WS-MCR - Ongoing Impressions

I wonder if resting the weight of the rifle on the mag (using it as a monopod/bipod) is causing these overseat and doublefeed problems?

I assume most guys are shooting off a bench.

Yeah, no.

All of my double feeds have been standing, unsupported at matches. I wish it only happened on the bench while not on the clock.

Damn, haha! Wishful thinking on my part, I guess.

I picked one of these rifles up recently. It came down to this or the RBD, as a last minute NR acquisition.

I actually don't trust Nutnfancy's Pump of that rifle, although my experience with keltecs has been great.

G dammit, I just want a 5.56 semi that goes bang. Is that too much to ask for?

I had mine out at the range for the first time today. I had a few malfunctions out of 200 rounds of .223 reloads. I didn't have any factory ammo on hand to test it. My rifle feels like it needs a break in period.

The latest batch of rifles have one charging handle slot on the left side of the receiver. I'm left handed so it was a bit slower to operate the charging handle than my Type 81.

It is fine as range toy. Accurate and reliable with factory ammo. But I had a serious stoppage that I think was caused by tapping the magazine. The last round bolt catch got stuck in the magazine. The mag could not be removed. It required partial disassembly of the rifle to fix.

Has anyone tried mounting an Eotech on the WS-MCR?

I've heard that an Eotech won't fit on a WK-180, due to the shoulder below the picatinny rail.
So I'm wondering if these guns have the same issue?

I really like mine, about 300 rds through a couple different types of bulk ammo (including 55gr Barnaul steel case) and not a single issue. I put on the Kodiak external bolt catch release and works flawlessly. I’ll say I’m not a great shooter but I am impressed with the accuracy, about 1.5” at 50 yds with a red dot on the bench and 3-4” from standing and the groupings didn’t seem fussy about ammo. Takedown is a bit stiff I suspect it’ll ease up with wear. It’s not quite the same as my AR’s but this is closer and better than I expected.

Anyone else with the 3D printed spacer having issues with the front rail separating from the receiver after a few hundred rounds?

Early rifle, I assume?

They had a batch where the part of the spacer between the "ears" of the handguard was too wide so you couldn't tighten it down enough.

They sent me a thinner replacement which arrived broken. I just leave it out now. Other than sending a new one of the disposable spacers, Wolverine was completely unconcerned.

Has anyone had any luck with mag followers? I tried the magpul follower but there's very little bite onto the follower for the last round bolt hold open.

If they made the bolt hold open/release a standard part then I'd be happy for them to get rid of the left side charging handle and stick to purely right hand

- Less space for debris to get into
- less machining, and a lower cost/manufacture time
- no real loss in capability as you only use the bolt handle to manually fix stoppages, or conduct the first/last load/unload
