Nice image of the modified MG08/15 inter-war version. 08s and 08/15s were used in WWII for fortifications or block defence.

Most of the rooms on display are inside the fortifications but lots to see outside.

Being British but visiting France and Belgium there is still lots of Napoleonic history too. The French citadels are really interesting and often have a strong WWI and WWII connection. Mauberge is well worth a visit and the photos do not do the size of the 'ramparts' justice.
