LOL! How true!
Hope I'm not jacking...
Colt 1911A1 1943
Underwood M1 Carbine 1943
Springfield M1 Garand 1941
None of mine, as far as I know, experienced combat. The Colt and Underwood both came off the Alaska Highway Project, traded for booze and such, had to get them registered when I aquired them.
The M1 Garand is a Lend Lease to Britain. If little man would have invaded England instead of Mother Russia, it would likely have seen some service.
Who were issued these 8,000 M1s?
Joe is that camo background WW2 German or U.S Marines?
Nice Steve! Thanks for the heads up on the camo pattern. I was pretty sure it was German but not completely.
Is your Marine camo WW2 period or repro? Where did you get it? How are the cartouches on your carbine and Garand?
I have a Danish '43 Springfield VAR with a original '43 stock with the proper cartouches unmolested. I'm slowly restoring it (replaced bolt, gas tube and plug, added locking bar - not sure what to do about the barrel; probably leave it unless I get lucky with a good '43 barrel). Plus 1907 sling and PAL bayo with VP sheath.
You need a Johnson, a Riesling, a 1903; plus some Japanese rifles, a Nambu and a sword! Not too big of a list.![]()
Thanks Steve! My cartouches are about the same. I'm very happy the Danes or someone else didn't sand them off. And thanks for the offer.
Just a thought... you and Artyman might want to do a joint display if you guys are close. Seems he's getting into Japanese milsurps in a big way.
