^ Ball turret for the Duxford B24 Liberator

A goodly number of years ago I got to crawl around inside the CAM B24 and while it may look large on the outside the thing is cramped and tight inside. I thought I would try the rear turret on for size and wearing shorts and t shirt, that was never going to happen. The airmen who flew the missions in these aircraft must have been short and thin of build and if they are all geared up in flying suit/boots and helmet they would have to be.

ME 109 G4, one of 3 109G's at the Flugmuseum Messerschmidt, all of which apparently fly:

They also have a 262 replica and an unpowered, gliding 163. I like the 163. Surely rocket technology has advanced to the point where we can build a safe powered 163 replica?

"I swear to Gott, Karl, you drop my ratchet in that ####ing tall grass one more time and I'll beat you to death with it."

Many Storches still flying, including a ton of post-war MS 505 clones:

Wasn't the Storch a favourite of Rommel?

Saw a video of the Storch taking off and landing. Half a football field would have been too much.
