I was thinking of getting a browning x-bolt 22-250 but it has a 1in 14 twist don't think it will like anything heavier than 55 gr bullets what do you guys think?, I'm kinda turned off

What are you planning on shooting with a 22-250 that you need a bullet heavier than 55grs. If you are planning on shooting predators and varmints there are countless number of bullets 55gr and under to choose from that will get the job done. Now if you want to shoot long distance target you might as well get a fast twist 223 or have a custom twist rifle built for you.

I have a Browning in 22-250 with a 1-14 works with bullets up to 55 gr. plenty accurate. I shoot mine to 400 yards and can hold a 2 inch group and drop a coyote.

That is why I got a savage. It is unfortunate as I would have liked something else but it has a 1:12 twist. I have shot the 53gr vmax with good results as well as berger 60gr also with good results.

Your right I have a x-bolt in 308 and love it couldnt ask for a better gun for the money would of liked to see a 1 in 12, twosmokinspade would you buy it again?, I found one from one of the sponsor and also a local shop has a 243 with 3D stock kinda caught my eye but I already have ruger#1s in 243 and 6mm ?? Now to mak up my mind!!!!

We'll made my decision, called up frontier firearms and ordered an x-bolt in 22-250 I think there the only ones in canada that had one left! No I need to get so rings !

55gr vmax's are great coyote medicine. I wonder why so many people overthink the bullet scenario for predators these days. 40-55 grainers worked great for decades. If you are truly concerned about the long range game (beyond 400 regularly), you pretty much have to consider screwing on a faster twist tube. Work on shooting some coyotes under 300 yards and see where the road takes you.
