So funny thing, today I have a fellow come into my work, a small Fishing/ Hunting store and ask the very same questions. I believe I was very straight up with him, saying that I haven't seen one yet (except for the new Browning brochures) and that we had one on order.
This is a new gun on the market,(hells canyon) most small business won't have one in stock yet, and information is slim at best.
So I with the best of intent go to one of my favorite firearms resources CGN to see if there is any information I can learn so as to be able to help this costomer should he return, and I find this thread,
All I can say is WOW !
I treated the customer in my store with the greatest of respect. Why? Because I treat everyone that way, even the ones who come in just fishing for information, and I knew that with this guy, but the way I see it is we gunnies are all family.
So next time you feel the need to disrespect someone who is only trying to be helpful online remember its a small world. And I do except apologies in person.
Hold on a second rgh470... Prior to purchasing either an xbolt hells canyon speed or a western hunter, I've been trying to confirm barrel length on the wsm chamberings. Browning lists the barrels at 23", but does not state whether this length includes the muzzle break. So far I've talked to around 15 people/businesses, and half say the 23" includes the break, half say it doesn't. It's a simple question that I haven't yet received a straight answer for...
Last night I spoke with you re this question, and within the first few minutes of the conversation, you fed me 3 totally incorrect pieces of information regarding these rifles:
1- you told me that "browning barrels are 24 inches long". WRONG. No chamberings in these models have 24" barrels. Short action, long action, short action magnum, long action magnum... None have 24" barrels.
2- you told me that these rifle barrels are ported. WRONG. They have removable muzzle breaks.
3- you told me that these models would not be available for a few months. WRONG. The western hunter has been available for at least 3 years, and the hells canyon speed has been sporadically available for a few months in Canada, including at least 1 store right here on Vancouver island.
Right off the hop it was clear to me that you knew little about the product your store sells. Instead of offering to find the correct answer, you fed me a bunch of BS and totally discredited yourself as a representative of the dealer. As a buyer it turns me off purchasing anything from you or your store, and can actually drive people to look for alternate products.
We both treated each other with respect during the conversation. I didn't name you or your store in my post. All I did is express frustration when people don't know the details about the product they sell. As such, I am unclear as to why you're asking for an apology...
