X95 Non restricted whos getting one ?

Not to rain on anyone's Xmas, but I really can't wrap my head around those who persist in thinking that they are somehow ahead of the curve by owning only non-restricted firearms and ridiculing anything restricted as mere "range toys". Folks such as these have either willfully or negligently decided to ignore the history of Canadian Firearms Legislation over the past 100 years, with an emphasis on the most recent 30 year decline in our rights. I find this ignorance deliriously odd, given the professed hobby of those who spout it. But I digress. I've been around long enough, and owned enough "black and green" guns of all classifications less FA, to know that they are all just a stroke of the govt pen away from prohibition and eventual confiscation. After all, it was a mere stroke of the Liberal and Conservative pens that saw my very own firearms become 12(3), 12(4), 12(5) and 12(6) prohibs, some of them (eg. Steyr AUG) went from NR one day, to Prohib the very next. So if you think that the very same medicine is not in store for your very expensive and oh, so precious non-restricted black and green firearms? Well, then, some of you are seriously delusional. The RCMP may very well be evil and politicized at the top end of their bureaucracy, but they are also not stupid. They aren't about to waste their current opportunity to screw all owners of black and green guns in squarely in the keister. Just wait for it. In the interim, enjoy your soon to be restricted or prohibited X-95. Just don't forget to stock up on KY Jelly so it slips smoothly from your hands when the time inevitably comes....

Heaven forbid we want to enjoy them off the range while we can. I live 45 minutes from the nearest restricted rifle range. Why on earth would I buy a restricted when I can use a non restricted in my back yard legally (back yard meaning the thousands of uninhabited acres outside my back door). Yeah, non restricted is important to me right now. Different needs for different people, man. I don't begrudge those who buy restricted rifles (I've even owned a few, but they didn't get shot; guess why), so why don't you cut some slack?

Pretty sure every black rifle owner is full and well aware of the potential for our noble leaders to make us paper criminals overnight.

Anyone have info on the release of the Restricted model?

I can not say for certain, but I am fairly confident its not going to happen sadly. I have been in touch with Jon at NS before christmas asking about more CTARs and he said they are not planing to bring anymore in for the forseeable future because the last batch they brought in a couple of years ago was 20 rifles which they finally had to blow out to clear shelf space since they were not moving. I imagine they have the same thoughts towards the x95, but I will ask when I call him in the new year.

Lots of us just ordered the IDF style handguard from Brownells, Judging from past experiences with N.S this is for sure the cheaper alternative as well.

as for the IDF buttplate, You can just make your own with the factory one. ;-)

Dilli can you show me when you have the reconfigured setup done? Sounds like you're doing what I would like it to look like.
I will put this on my future shopping list. Cheers.

Call me crazy, but now that the HK 243 is prohibited, I want this. And I want to cerakote it white like some cool sci-fi/district 9 blaster.

What say the hive?

By "Handguard" I think he mains the IDF tube-shaped fore-end, not the trigger guard.

Yep... That's the one.
Sorry ... I used wrong term, Tubular Fore-end/Forearm Grip.
I still i gonna get one before June 2017.
Who wants X95 with extra window milled out on the stock...
Pretty sure Manticore Arms will make one similar to it, if IWI wont sell it.
I hope...

Yes, I want the 13' barreled version.

IWI is releasing one classified as an SBR in the US market in the "fourth quarter"...

Seems like they could sell quite a few in the Canadian realm...I hope North Silva brings them in, or IRG is going to be the route...
