Thing is I have seen scoped SKS's group about as good as the tests I have seen so far on a scoped X-95. Completely different rifles granted, but they both shoot 3 to 4 MOA at a hundred yards. At our local range, a member that has done some work on his SKS is around 2 to 3 MOA or less consistently with hand loads for less than 1/4 the price of a X-95. But the X-95 is more pretty for sure. The X-95 may look like a Ferrari, but shoots like a Lada.
Not to rain on anyone's Xmas, but I really can't wrap my head around those who persist in thinking that they are somehow ahead of the curve by owning only non-restricted firearms and ridiculing anything restricted as mere "range toys". Folks such as these have either willfully or negligently decided to ignore the history of Canadian Firearms Legislation over the past 100 years, with an emphasis on the most recent 30 year decline in our rights. I find this ignorance deliriously odd, given the professed hobby of those who spout it. But I digress. I've been around long enough, and owned enough "black and green" guns of all classifications less FA, to know that they are all just a stroke of the govt pen away from prohibition and eventual confiscation. After all, it was a mere stroke of the Liberal and Conservative pens that saw my very own firearms become 12(3), 12(4), 12(5) and 12(6) prohibs, some of them (eg. Steyr AUG) went from NR one day, to Prohib the very next. So if you think that the very same medicine is not in store for your very expensive and oh, so precious non-restricted black and green firearms? Well, then, some of you are seriously delusional. The RCMP may very well be evil and politicized at the top end of their bureaucracy, but they are also not stupid. They aren't about to waste their current opportunity to screw all owners of black and green guns in squarely in the keister. Just wait for it. In the interim, enjoy your soon to be restricted or prohibited X-95. Just don't forget to stock up on KY Jelly so it slips smoothly from your hands when the time inevitably comes....
.300 Blackout Update!
Good news. We can finally update you with information on our X95 in .300 Blackout. All testing is completed and guns are now in full production. Many of you labeled our .300 as vaporware or "unobtanium" as it appeared that we would never bring this to market. It took much, much longer to build in this caliber than all of us had hoped and planned but now we have it!
We had to make sure that we had the quality and reliability that we insist on and that you have rightfully come to expect from us.
We will be able to start shipping the first complete X95's in .300 Blackout by the end of February/early March. X95 Conversion Kits in .300 should be ready by end March/early April.
Last but not least, .300 Conversion Kits for the original Tavor SAR will start shipping in early April.
Converting the X95 and SAR to .300 Blackout is not as simple as merely changing the barrel, so note that Conversion Kits for both models will include the .300 barrel (16.5" with 1:8 twist; with integral gas regulator for reliable function with sub and supersonic ammo when running a suppressor), bolt (properly headspaced to the included barrel), a complete dedicated .300 Blackout recoil assembly, a new Picatinny top rail (with cutout that allows easy access to the gas regulator), a unique .300 case deflector and a barrel wrench. As a result, pricing for the Conversion Kits will be similar to our current pricing on 9mm Conversion Kits.
We believe in "better late than never" and hope you will agree.
