The debat on whether to allow or not to allow the use of xbows during the archery season is heating up here in Alberta. As of today xbows are allowed only during the rifle big game season. Okay I,m going hunting , should I take my xbow ,that shoots at the most 50 yrds pushing it , or my rifle that I can shoot to 300 yrds. Might as well consider taking my sons sling shot.Reading some of the posts on an Alberta magizine formum it seems that alot of bow hunters think that xbows are more like a gun than a bow.I think its a no brainer , projectile is a single arrow , like most bows, whats different , well it has a stock like a rifle ,it has a trigger , wait all the bow hunters are using trigger releases now also.I have a feeling that this year xbows will be allowed durning the archery season, not to the liking of the bow hunters , more competetion afeild. A popular sporting goods sold out of excalibur xbows. So is a xbow a gun or a bow?
