So we know we can get the standard 18.6" barrels, but what about the 14.7, 16" or 11"? Where can we get those? I've asked Alex at Robinson Arms and he told me to talk to Wolverine, but I was told they had no plans of bringing them in.

There's another thread that discusses this topic, however it's a couple months old and I couldn't find it. To summarize, Wolverine has no intention of importing XCR barrels in lengths other than 18.6", in order to not to jeopardize the NR status of the XCR-L. They indicated a lighter-profile .223 barrel may be available in the future, but that's it.

So if you want a shorter barrel in an XCR platform, looks like you'll need to get a XCR pistol or wait of the XCR mini, which may be available, again, in the future.

Sucks, I know.

Oooooh!
Is there plans for the Mini to be imported? I'm kinda excited about that then. Is there any info around here on that yet?

And yes, the barrel thing sucks.

I will try and clarify a few points reference XCR barrels.

The UD State Dept will only approve the export of rifle barrels over 16.1 inches and pistol barrels. We chose to go with 18.6 inch barrels in order to keep the XCR non-restricted. I had concerns that if we also brought in 16.1 inch barrels which would move the XCR into a restricted class, we might be asking for problems with the CFC, for 2.5 inches it hardly seemed worthwhile.

We do have the XCR Pistol (Micro)l in stock, this model has the 7.25 inch barrel.

We have a few sample XCR Mini on order, 10 inch barrel , I am told ETA is June but I think that is optimistic. We do plan on stocking these.I have just been advised that we are waiting for US Export Licence approval for the Mini.

We sell both the Mini and Micro with no butt stock as they receive US export approval as pistols. Here in Canada you are free to fit any one of a number of available butt stocks.

We should have 18.6 inch light profile barrels available later this year.

It is not that you the customers are never right, we value your input, but we have had enough difficulties in the past with both quantities and export licence approval that there seemed little point in "rocking the boat" by applying for a US export licence for 14.7 inch barrels when we cannot get licence approval for any 11.5 or 14.5 inch AR 15 type barrels.

Well,
That sounds cool to me. I will be ordering one of the Mini's in the future then. I'm just curious though, John? Are you a good fisherman? Because you really know how to set your hook to real us in. Lol! Keep up the good work.

You say all this but One Shot Tactical is importing SBR SR-15s and Questar is importing many different SBRs. I don't believe you. Have you even tried?

i suspect questar adds stocks (on pistols), barrels etc. once they have left the country. assembling them out of country might be the loop hole. or it could have to do with RA's export license....

Its one of those things that we might not know all the back stage dealings of the US State Department either. What I have heard from many US suppliers who know John, say that he's honest and does his importing above board. Sometimes the fault lays across the border. Rediculous laws is the main culprate of all of our problems with getting US stuff. A good example is ordering things from Brownells. You can order up to $99.99 US in goods per order, but you can still make 6 or more orders to get all the stuff you need. However, we are not permitted to order something as simple as an a2 flash hider. Why? Not really sure. I tried ordering a PWS bolt carrier from them when I have ordered many bolt carriers of different types, but they won't ship me the PWS one due to it not being a recognized supplier of ITAR. Wtf is that supposed to mean?
So John technically is the messenger. We can't shoot the messenger when he's out their delivering us cool stuff like the XCR's and all the other goodies he has made happen for us. He is the man who started us out with cool tactical stuff he finds on his ventures across the world.

So John, do I get a free African Hunt yet, or do I have to say more? Lol! Just kidding. Thanks for getting us cool stuff John. My first cool thing I bought was my Famae Saf and from what I understand, the Chilean government isn't pleasant to deal with. Lol!

I agree with John on this one...Don't Phuc with a good thing!

“Them sounds like fighting words to me”! You are obviously a FNG and do not know me or you would not have said that.

Also I do not comment on what other businesses may or may not be doing, or how they are doing it.

Don't worry John.
Like I tell my kids. If you don't like how things are, go away! Lol!
Most of us have great faith in you and your buisiness.
Anyone who challenges that should, instead of pointing fingers, should go read up on State Department rules instead of going off half cocked without all the information. I'm always a big believer in finding out info, first hand from sources I trust. Maybe being new he has no reputable people to ask.
On another note, people should be careful not to burn bridges. Makes it harder to get where your going. ;)

Also, John.
I'm off work for a while and if you need a bag boy to carry all your stuff on your next trip to where ever, I'm your man! Lol!
I wish I could go to the places you've been. I've said it before, wish you were in Ontario! By the way, Gobles in London, Ontario is for sale. You should buy it and make Wolverine 2!

The so call SBR's you mentioned are all named restrict AR, so no matter if they are 5" or 20" barrel the CFC will classified them as restricted, so your comparison is worthless.

US Dept works on a different guideline from day to day depending on who's table the permit lands on, That is the reason you don't see Questar and One Shot receiving more than one shipment a year and when they do arrive, you only see handful of rifles. By comparison Wolverine supplies gets shipments on a regular basis,

I do believe Mr. Hipwell must know what he is doing and I think he deserves a little more credit from you ;)
