Ya, I am glad I only put 1 mag through at that setting.

I tried to drop my M to 3 after about 100 rounds, and got the odd FTE. It ran perfect on 4. I assume all this talk of lower gas settings right off the bat only apply to the L?????
I'm going out for round 2 today, and will see if I can get the gun to run reliably on 3 after a little more break in. I'll report in after I get back from the range.

Am I the only one of the opinion that a 2000$ or more black rifle shouldn't need a break in period pissing around with gas settings and allotments of ammo? If I cant put a mag into a new rifle and pull the trigger without screwing around with it, I lose a lot of interest in the rifle.
Ok so I put a mag in it and shoot, That's why I got mine. and the 3 seconds it takes to press the detent and turn the gas valve , well yeah it's a lot of pissing around. My sks x39 has no gas valve to adjust and has never had a ftf but it's not as kool as the xcr-m.Am I the only one of the opinion that a 2000$ or more black rifle shouldn't need a break in period pissing around with gas settings and allotments of ammo? I had the same issue yesterday although it was - 27*. I think the M's need more gas to get rid of the longer heavier case.Just got back from the range. I put another 10 rounds through my XCR-M on setting 4, and then turned her down to 3 for another 20 rounds with no issues. At the 30 round mark, I tried setting 2 and had an FTE on the first round. Turned it back to 3 and shot another 20 rounds without any troubles.
I guess I'll stick with setting 3 for the next 50-100 rounds and see if I can get down to 2 full-time.
