XCR Followup {Now with .308 Rumors}

Since this thread has been bumped I may as well post another update.

Finally got the new upper in the mail on friday, it took a long time to get here because customs decided to open it up and take a "quick" peek (a 3 week peek) inside. Problem is, they neglected to properly repackage everything before they taped the box back together.

The box showed up at my post office looking like it had been run over a few dozen times. As soon as I picked it up I could tell I wasn't going to like what I saw inside; I could feel the contents of the box and it felt as if there was no padding at all. The item in the box were originally wrapped in bubble wrap, but whoever opened it neglected re-wrap everything. Instead I found the bubble wrap wide open and the receiver and barrel literally laying on each other unprotected. Not to mention that the f*ckers removed most of the packing peanuts so everything was just flopping around inside the bloody box. :mad:

The damage isn't all that bad, considering the shameful packing; some gouges on on of the side rails and around the front take-down pin hole, as well as many small blemishes in the finish. Somehow the ejector got wrecked on the way, it was pushing against the bolt hard enough to make the bolt bind in the receiver. I tried adjusting it but just cant get it not to rub on the bolt as a cycle it by hand.

Needless to say, I am not pleased with the CBSA. The damage isn't extensive, but it is a far cry from the brand new receiver that Robarm shipped me.

No respect from the bordertards. They nearly ruined a RDS of mine that they inspected. Now it sports a big gouge in the objective lens.

Don't worry I will be complaining. I've already talked to RobArm about the price of a replacement upper, etc. The biggest problem I see is that there is no way for the CBSA to replace my upper with a new one since RobArm still does not have the finalized export permits!

The only good thing about this whole situation is that RobArm has been absolutely wonderful to deal with.

butt holes like that shouldn't have jobs little own government jobs paid for with tax dollars your paing the salery of the worthless butt wipe who disrespected your property

goverment should be subserviant not dominant

CBSA guy called me back about 30 min after I left a voicemail. He pretty much said that all they need to do is determine that it was they and not Canada Post who were responsible for the damage and then they will reimburse me for the entire piece. But to do that I need to send a *paper* letter to them along with photos. Welcome to the 21st century :p

We might be in the 21st century, but "They" are not.
Sorry for your bad luck with this piece, I do like the way it shoots and it looks very good. So does this mean you will have 2 complete uppers when this is all finished??
