Well I think I have sold myself on a black .223 XCR. I have owned AR's in the past and enjoyed them but always hated the fact that they where restricted.

What are people opinions? Quality issues? (i seem to remember a post to due with robinson arms poor customer service) accuracy? peoples over all impressions?

Thanks,

Can't speak for them personally cause I don't own one but from what i've read they are a solid piece.
If (when) I had (have) the cash this is the black rifle I would be getting. A fellow I went hunting with uses his as his coyote gun and he let me try it out, it was a really nice gun. It felt solid and he said it was accurate to boot.

Oh I wish I had some $$ now. I guess school come first though right? :p

i have read that some people will have to lokitite their xcr back togther as some stuff will fall off of it with some use. cant remember what falls off. that is just what i read and dont know if its true or not. the xcr does look like a nice black rifle though. it was on my short list of black rifles to pick from before i chose a tavor.

I had to tighten up the gas block on my 6.8 barrel, I also had a couple of firing pin issues, which Robarms admited was a problem on a small run of them. Other than that, I find it very Lefty friendly and reasonably accurate, not a sub moa varmint popper, but a solid 1 moa at 100yds. with the 5.56 barrel/bolt. The 6.8 I'm still working with, but 100 Gr. accubonds show lots of promise. As far as the bad hype, I liken XCR owners to conservatives, we go about our business and if a problem arises, fix it, the internet XCR haters are like liberals, squealing and wanting to rid our shooting world of them...Methinks they protest too much.;)

I own a .223 XCR-L , have shot almost all semi-autos in existence and am very satisfied with it. None of my rifle's part have fallen off after around 700-800 rounds but I did have to retighten the gas block after 400-500 rounds.
It's very accurate: it will shoot 5 rounds in a 1cm by 1cm square at 50 meters with PMC M193 spec ammo!!!

In a perfect world, I'd be shooting a folding stock AK with 30rounds mag but I live in the real world where XCRs are non-restricted, ARs are restricted and AKs are prohibited. So for me right here right now, the XCR is the best but make sure to consider a Swiss Arm Green Rifle before you buy.

If you want a non restricted .223 black rifle that takes 10 round mags then the xcr is probably your only choice... I have one and think for that its a great rifle. It is maybe a little overpriced but other than that I find no issues.

It is very reliable. Mine shoots 1.5 MOA (with american eagle ammo) and I am not a good shooter. the rifles own accuracy is probably a little closer to 1 MOA.

The way I see it: If you shoot targets on a range, get an AR, if you plink stuff in the bush, get an XCR

They totally suck. They are awesome. They break all the time. They are very reliable. You can't hit the broad side of a barn at 100m with one. They are wicked accurate.

I thought I would save the OP the trouble of a lot of reading and just sum it up in one post.

wrong. alot of non restricted black rifles can use the 10 round lar15 mags. This is a list of them AR180Bs, IWI Tavor, Benelli MR1, HK SL8 with the mag adapter, FS2000, XCR. Soon to arrive in Canada, FN Scar, Bushmaster ACR and keltec su 16D

The 5.56 VZ58 will have a new mag adapter when the Czechoslovakia sorts out their export papers...

I stripped mine te day I got it because of the storys of possible bolts loosening. Cleaned the lube from the threads with alcohol based brake clean, blue locktite'd them, snugged them up and not one has come loose in just over 1000rounds. I have never had a single feed or eject failure that wasn't due to shooter error (not fully seating the mag). The absolute only issue I ever had was using too thick lube on the hammer assembly causing weak hammer strikes. It caused primers to extrude/blow outs. I verified it being a lube issue by repeatedly pulling the hammer out, cleaning, switching oils, assemble, fire 10 rounds and repeat. I run Lukas 15-40 on the bolt/carrier and light triflow in the trigger group. Flawless. I've now fondled a many AR's and none came close to having as nice of a trigger as my xcr came, after a little trigger work its really amazing. By the way it's seen hundreds of rounds down to -34c and it's also been so hot I've seared the palm of my hand touching the barrel. Maybe I just got lucky. My other shooting pals guns are picky about ammo and which mags run properly. So far I can run Winchester white box hollow points, pmc fmj, AE red and AE193 on setting 1 with 100% reliability.

I'm not doubting there were problems, flaws and qc issues with the earlier guns but everything has teethng issues, thousands died because the the early AR's issues. It took years to sort out the AR and it's also been a while since anyone posted here regarding an issue with a newer xcr.

Put yourself in robinsons shoes, he's got a new rifle on the market in this era where people are impatient, rude and demanding, people are insulting himself and his employees. He simple had enough and said if your going to call us ans be a #### your request goes to the bottom of the pile. If I had a rude customer call me I'd tell him to shove his car up his stink hole and refuse to sort out the problem.

well I bought a Tavor... a smoking deal came up on the ee and i snapped it up instead. I did research on my own and quite frankly there was to much "iffy" info on the xcr for the kind of $ I was going to spend
