XCR Opinions

How could the hairpin fail? It has absolutley no force, load or strain on it, and that same pin design is used in thousands if retention systems from race cars to farm equipment. Almost every truck on the planet with a reciever hitch uses a pin just like that to retain the hitch, you ever seen one break or fall out? I haven't.

That ejector design is also used on many different guns from stens to berettas, in my opinion it's far better than the spring powered ejector that can get filled with carbon, requiring cleaning. There's only thousands and thousands of posts regarding ejector failures in a platform that shal remain nameless.

If I hear of one single instance where a bolt carrier fails because of that slot I might, just might admit you've got a point there but it hasn't happened yet. There has been many issues with a certain other rifles bolt carrier.

Barrel flying off. Lol. Only if installed by a complete meat head. Dimple retention is used in so many high stress areas you wouldn't even belive. In most standard transmissions from front wheel drives to 21speed big rigs the dimple design holds syncro/shift hubs, forks, idler wheels, and bearings in place. Not to mention industial pivot pins in 60ton loaders, dump trucks, factory equipment like conveyor roller bearings, swing doors, ect ect.

Sorry bud, if your barrel fell off you did something wrong, stop passing the buck.

Beats me, but mine did. One of the pins broke and jammed up the fire control group. The pins are just too small and too easy to break.

I never said my barrel flew off. I said it was a possibility and I think dimple retention is just a bad idea all around, in all applications. Barrels have flown down range with the M96 system.

These are just my opinions, you don't have to agree with them.

wrong. alot of non restricted black rifles can use the 10 round lar15 mags. This is a list of them AR180Bs, IWI Tavor, Benelli MR1, HK SL8 with the mag adapter, FS2000, XCR. Soon to arrive in Canada, FN Scar, Bushmaster ACR and keltec su 16D

Ahhhh, and do not forget the Swiss Arms, with the soon to be released AR Mag accepting Lower, I hear they will be selling for about 750, please correct me if I'm wrong

Fair enough, but it really is a system that has been proven in far far harsher conditions than retaining a barrel. The barrel sees no more forward force than the bolts momentum can transmit. Upon firing the bolt is locked into the barrel extension, there is NO pressure trying to blow the barrel out of the reciever (you'd be able to hold it in with your hand) that is why as long as the Allen screw is sungged fully into the recess that barrel isn't going anywhere.

So the hair pin broke, big deal. Must have been faulty or not installed correctly. It doesn't do anything but stop the pin from sliding out.

Your sig line is pretty awesome by the way. I must admit.

My reasoning behind not purchasing the xcr.
1) Lack of hard evidence proving it quality, although CGN is a great resource for information there are many more out there supporting the lack of quality compared to other products..
2)when I held one it felt like poop in my hand
3) I read a post from Mr. Robinson about his customer service policies and was less then impressed.

COULD NOT AGREE MORE, it's simple and respectful, SUCK ON THAT, does this make me a XCR hater now?

I bought a Swiss Arms Black Special, based on the "Iffy" or questionable ramblings about the XCR on here.

I loctited my bolt drop and brass deflecter...I never had a problem just did it anyway. I sled and quad so I loctite everything anyway..

Ok I'm going to come out of the closet I Loctite the screws for my scope bases onto my bolt/lever action/single shot rifles...

:p

I opted not to locktite my scope mounts on my .300 once.... they loosened off. what a dumb design, screws and bolts.
