XCR Photoshoot....post em up let your XCR Freak Flag Fly

Have any pics of groups with that -M?

I kid, of course (that was day 1 with iron sights). Now that it is comfortable, I can work on it a bit. The fast stock was not comfortable for me at all in the prone position. I was shooting at a deer visi-shot target with the pink heart and once i got the scope dialed in a bit I could hit the heart 2 of 3 but the third was hard to keep in the group but could very well have been me. Put some balloons up at 100 and could hit those in 1 shot . I picked up a torque wrench so I can torque the barrel retention nut down to 250 in lbs. I can post some in the next few weeks when I get out again but a five shot MOA group would be a unicorn in my hands at this point... saying that I would not want to be taking cover from the .308 rounds coming out of this thing. Good size puff of dust at 100 VVVVV

edit... Im also using Norinco copper wash and am interested in trying some match ammo for accuracy...

Just shot mine this week! I think I'm in love. With the JM comp this thing shoots extremely flat and soft. Contemplating getting rid of my AR. Groups surprisingly good as well! Much better balance with the lightweight barrel.

Glad to hear....before when I'd go to the range I'd hum and haw about what to bring now I hum and haw about what to bring with my XCR....I've loved it from the moment I put my first round through it and will love it far into the future as I'm sure your finding out:)

and what adapter are you using?

looks to be an M that zeb is running, I ran a prs on my "L" with the same adapter and a 10x sightron.. not worth it.

get a collapsible stock and a cheek piece. the increased LOP from the adapter makes things difficult and kinda makes the rifle unwieldy.

edit: my bad, camp cook is right, early NEA - checked mine when i got home

Thought I'd give this page a well deserved bump. I'll post some more pics later on today, with rifle specs and camera settings/setup.

Late 2013 rev j xcr-l in .223
- magpul od green ladder rails
- burris QD pepr
- redfield battlezone 3-9x42
- nail polish for the engraving colouring
- od green fast stock
- magpul moe+ od grip
- magpul rvg od
- lantac dragon brake

Setup for the photos was done as follows:
- canon t5i
- tokina 11-16mm (for the wide shots)
- sigma 105mm macro (for the close up)
- ISO 100
- white balance set to "white fluorencent" for the iPhone light
- f/5.6 (might of gone up to f/9)
- shutter of about 6 to 8 seconds
- tripod

focused the camera with the lights on. Turn them off. Pitch black, the only light source I used was the flashlight on my iphone5.
Pressed the shutter button, then I waved the light about 2 feet above around the gun, holding it spots where I wanted it to be brighter. Trial and error til it looked nice. Very minor touch ups in photoshop (mostly removing the serial).

I'll try to take a few more close up angles tonight.

I know my photos aren't as ###y as these RIDICULOUSLY awesome photos, but I gotta show off my baby to someone.

P.S. I'm finding my rifle kinda forward heavy for run n gun, would a light barrel help a lot? Or should I just suck it up. I can fire a lot of rifles a bit more accurately at speed just because they're so easy to point, the XCR is a bit heavy haha.
