Xcr v. Mr1

Awwww....:p....it's like a rite of passage  , to be able to make the first Loctite comment in an XCR thread !....:D

Tell you what :yingyang: , if it irks people that much I'll give them a "free pass" to $hit all-over my AR-180B's breakable lower..... TWK

Didn't you mother ever tell you two wrongs don't make a right?

Thanks tons.. My sence is that the xcr just sort of looks more "tactical" and is more accessory friendly, but that the MR1 has a certain novelty look, and a certain "bad assnes" in it's own right.

I've also gleaned that the ARGO system has some definite advantages, but the stock set up leaves a little to be desired, but may be remedied with a Cheek pad.

Also, some concern about optic placement.

I think I'm leaning to the xcr unless someone suggests I'm going to be missing out (use would be primarily shooting at the range or (as non-restricted) shooting varmints and such on friends farms.

Adding the CTR stock and ELACN balanced it out very nicely I found!

I actually like the way the ctr looks with the cheek rest there...I may go that route - I already have the adapter. Nice looking rifle.

What sling system are you running?

I own the XCR-L with .223 & 6.8mm barrels. Over all, I love this gun & will likely never part with it. There are a couple of thing I don't particularly like about it. The first thing I don't like is the weight. I really wish the gun was a bit lighter up front. The worst thing I dislike about the XCR is the infamous "trigger slap". The trigger can be fixed but I have to ask, why was this not solved by Robarms?

Again, I do love the gun over all but most of that is because it is non-restricted. YMMV

The newer versions do not have the infamous "trigger slap"! maybe a touch on gas setting 4 for break in but on #2 its smooth as silk and a very nice reset.

I have the newer version with the enhanced match trigger group. I am on gas setting #2. I still get slap. I plan to try gas settin #1 this weekend. I also bought a new complete set of trigger bits so that I can mess with one and still have a set in case I screw it up.

I use the same setup but with the fast stock. I really like the sling. It goes from single point to two point easily and you can lock the clasps so the won't unlock by accident.

Hmmm sounds like there is something not right! Is the recoil buffer broken?
That could cause a bit possibly but from my experience sounds like there is an issue. Talk to Wolverine or send an email to RA.

My recoil buffer looks like new. I own a spare as I have seen these disintegrate before and don't want to wait 8 weeks for a replacement. Good advise on contacting RA & Wolverine. I will contact them if changing the gas setting doesn't resolve it.

Thanks,

Forget the Swiss Arms... way overpriced for the $, and the thing is a tank... If this is just to plink with, I'd get the Tavor. I definitely wouldn't get the MR1; it's just kind of an odd-ball setup (despite apparently being accurate).

I think Blaxsun is right on this the Tavor is much better..New age gun and it's compact.... If the Swiss arms came in at say $2000 it would be a winner...

Can someone explain how the Tavor and Swiss Arms has come up in a MR1 vs XCR-L thread.

Non-restricted .223 black's get compared to one another, usually regardless of price.

If I absolutely had to pick either an xcr or an mr1, it'd be the benelli.
It has goofy ergonomics, but at least it's accurate...
