Xcr v. Mr1

This implies the XCR isn't accurate.

My XCR-L was as accurate as many of the AR's at the last Service Rifle match and I can put rounds in the same hole, 1/4" and 1/2" at 50m off the bench with factory ammo and 4x magnified.

So when I read the loctite, and trashing comments how everything is better than the XCR I don't pay attention or argue...I bought 2 and they work for me.

I think the MR1 looks great but the stock would be an issue for my type of shooting. Either one of these two choices would not be a bad one.

Get to the range and try to test them out...that's the best way!

^Proof....lol

I saw some of the results between a Benelli MR1 and Swiss Arms, and I was actually pretty surprised (and impressed) by the groups from the MR1. Apparently the thing is a tack driver, although I still think it's a tad unwieldy and fugly as hell. I'm not ashamed to admit that all my non-restricted black rifles are way more accurate than I, and are probably underutilizing their potential. ;)

This was shot with my XCR-L 5.56mm, zeroing in my ELCAN Specter DR 1x4x at 50m...
After some slight adjustment it was shooting nice IMO and for my needs as im not looking for an AR style rifle to be a tack driver sniper rifle. I would use a Remington 700 for that...

I would argue the XCR is as accurate as the average shooter needs it to be for offhand shooting.

That's quite true, but the allure, to me at least, of a non restricted black rifle is to take it out and shoot coyotes or gophers at 200 to 600 yards, usually from a supported position, be it kneeling, prone, etc. The xcr does not have the consistant accuracy to do that.
For banging rounds into a large target at 50 yards standing, hell, even an sks works for that...

As for the 50 yard groupings, at 50 yards, 10 rounds from even my 10/22 will make a small ragged hole.
Go out to 200 yards with your xcr, shoot ten rounds, and post the pic up here. Odds are you won't want to reveal that pic.

Hey, you have to hand it to XCR owners. You have to really love it to pay that kind of premium to put an AR stock and grip on it... ;)

Here is hoping the AR will become NR. In my dreams I suppose.
I would be rockin a LMT in the woods.:)

Benelli MR1 ... $1,299USD MSRP ($1,549 CAD) +19.3% premium
RobArms XCR ... $1,500USD MSRP ($2,350 CAD) + 56.7% premium

This is a bit of a porkie pie.

NFAGEAR latest price for the standard is $1775.
Now throw $250 on for the heavy barrel, sights and rail covers.
That's $2025. Convert that to CDN that's $2050
So that's $2050 to $2350 an increase of about 14.5%.

I was getting 4.5 inch group consistently with my XCR off my rucksack with 7.62 Chinese surplus at 200yards and that was after nearly 500 rounds without cleaning. A couple of weeks ago I got a 4 shot group of 2.5 inches at 200 when the rifle was clean.

I for one would really like to know where the idea started that the Benelli MR-1's are accurate. I have personally owned 2 of them and sold them both BEACAUSE they weren't accurate. I also know of a fellow locally that just picked one up a few days ago (against my recommendations) and he is not able to get anything to group less than about 3 inches at 100 yards. Needless to say he is NOT a happy camper. I have asked many MR-1 owners to see pics of their small groups that they are shooting and their reply is that " I don't shoot much for paper but I can hit pop cans most of the time!" I am not saying that there are not some accurate MR-1's out there, nor am I a "hater", but I would like to see one of these accurate MR-1's that are supposed to be out there!

RobArms XCR ... $1,500USD MSRP ($2,350 CAD) + 56.7% premium

That MSRP misquote is almost worthy of an Anti' ;)

Actually the MSRP is around $1700 not $1500, take a look at the price of a Micro Pistol which is pretty much an un-touch version of the US model, with exception of a pair of MI BUIS and pinned muzzle device, Wolverine has it listed below $2000.

Before RobArm took down the exact cost for all the options for the rifle from their website, you can actually add up all the extras that made up the Canadian model, things like 18" heavy barrel, pinned muzzle device, MI BUIS and the stock adds another $400 to the cost.

Just try and a monolithic upper piston AR for less than $2000.
