Xcr vs swiss arms..need help

Guys it's not Paul Morrison's fault. He just doesn't have the same experience as some other shooters here.

Amateurs pretend to be experts on the internet quite often. Sometimes the experts become annoyed and point this out. This is often not taken lightly by the amateurs, who try to defend what they have said. The experts often strive to keep the form professional and want to have questions answered accurately. The amateurs are not experts and as a result don't have the skills to recognize experts. This may be why they keep going and won't stop posting. I don't expect this to change soon.

PS, Paul I am issued select fire weapons.
I've put a few rounds down range with more than a few different guns.

My SG552 blew out the extractor between 6 and 7 thousand rounds.( I should have replaced it at the 5000 round mark as directed.) It's now around the 8000 round mark. The gun has had 3 stoppages. 2 were just prior to the extractor blowing out and 1 was when it blew out. My full size Classic Green has around 9000 rounds with 1 stoppage.

Sorry about the spelling Paul, no excuse. I read and approve reports all day and get lazy once and a while on an informal form such as this.

I've only got about 600 rounds through it. Very good gun. No problems or issues at all. Won the Alberta Service Rifle Provincials with it and Ruag ammo. Some features are better than Swiss Arms. I hate to say it but it's almost as good as a Swiss Arms gun and the gas system runs cleaner.

I'd rather have one or two realy good rifles than a bunch of average / good ones.

It's expensive but if you get one you will know why. High quality build. I'm running those terrible HK Steel mags. As long as you don't throw them on the ground and stomp on them, when loaded, they work pretty good. I think that for a 5 round range mag in a MR223 they are perfect. I have some PMAGs and I wouldn't trade the HK ones for the PMAGS. I will admit that if you are going to throw the mags around on cement, loaded, then the PMAGS might be better.

hey rich this is directed at you.

How are you firing these supposed 3 round bursts at civy ranges? :0

:D 1 load rifle with 30 rnd mag

:rockOn:2 put selector switch to 3 Rnd

:) 3 Aim rifle at target

:p 4 Depress trigger and release and Repeat as often as you like .

:welcome:

BTW the Sig Shorty's are awesome better than the HK 416 in both handling and controllability when firing in bursts

I was gonna ask how the XCR handled in short bursts. But the local fan boys know where I live and I can't afford to replace another set of slashed tires.

:p

sprint,

25 to 50 meters is a little far for auto and burst fire. We try to train CQB with auto and burst at 10 meters and in. Most work is semi auto.
Many services are using select fire guns at local ranges. 95% or more of all training is controlled semi auto.

You'd know a lot better than me about that dude.

Like the song says, its... "been a long time since I rock and rolled." Now, if I had an XCR. Well. You just might be getting schooled. Make up the skill differential with some UNBELIEVABLE gear I read about on the Internet

Hmmm.....

Its just not any funnier when delivered as good natured sarcastic ribbing

Seriously though. I don't recall much for problems with 5.56 at 0-50 in full auto. But then again, I never had the same application constraints you do.

Would love to see the 552 in burst/auto configuration some day. I'm sure you could show me a trick or two about how to employ mine.

Thank for weighing in here and returning some sanity to Rome.

Lol. Am I the only one in this thread reminded of the immortal comments of 1inchgroup.

Bringer of classic one-liners such as,

"...but then again, I went to Blackwater."

Paul, its all meant in good humor bud. No damage intended. Its clear you love your purchase, and there's nothing wrong with that. But some things are just better brought and solved cold at the range.

Speaking of full auto I remember when I had a slamfire with my Tavor before I recieved the new bolt. I put a 5/30 pmag into the gun loaded up with winchester white box 62 gr 223 and and released the bolt catch. I took aim at the target at 50 yards. When I pulled the trigger all 5 rounds came out in a nice short burst. To my amazement I went and looked at the 50 yard target and to my astounishment all 5 rounds were on paper and in a nice 3 inch group. Man it really sucks we can't have real full auto that was fun as hell. But needless to say I turned some heads at the range and I put the Tavor away until I recieved my new bolt. :(

The problem is he loves it so much that anyone who doesn't love it must be a liar.

Or paid by the competition to spread lies!

Why, oh why won't Robinson or Swiss Arms make them in 7.62x39?? Ammo is sooooo much cheaper!!!

Given that we can get surplus crates of 7.62x39 ammo, if someone were to make an XCR or Classic Green in that calibre, I (and I'm sure many others too) would be all over it.

rob amrs does make a 7.62x39 xcr, and it might get imported by wolverine

When I saw this post, I went over to Robarms site and saw the rifle.

I WANT!!!!!!!

I sent an e-mail to Wolverine asking if they'll import them and how much they'll cost.

Hopefully, lots more CGN'ers want this rifle and will let Wolverine know!!
