sorry I haven't been on in a little while! it's been seriously busy around the shop. We've been busting butts to meet shipping numbers. The trigger parts are on order. The vendor is new, so i can't give a promised time frame. We should be able to designate a good batch of them out of the second round - the first set is going to be standardized in some rifles. Hopefully all the next XCRs sent to Canada will have them!

I finally got to take a peek at the latest version of the new stock design. From what I can tell, there isn't a thing on it that could piss off the state department. Once they're in production we'll see what we can do about shipping some over there. We're going to make adapters so they will fit on AR platforms as well, in case anyone wants to make them more versatile.

The .308 designs are coming along nicely. No prototype yet, but it should be coming soon. I'll do my best to keep you all updated on that.

As for having a company in Canada make the M4 adapters - I haven't had a chance to sit down with Alex and talk to him about it. Seems like every time I'm in he's locked his office door to catch up on paperwork and parts orders. Don't worry, I haven't forgotten. :)

Re M4 Adaptors

I just built one. This adaptor, based on some of my replies that were sent to me by pm - they just wanted something simple in a non-folder. So I made this one up really quick all you have to do is punch out your roll pin, carefully tap out your stock rob arms stock. Clean out your rifle adaptor cause they use some kind of apoxy glue. Put this adaptor in and hammer back in your roll pin. The piece is currently blued but can be coated in a satin finish quite easily with a ceramic baked on coating. My prototype is actually made of some mild steel I had lying around the shop. My new ones wil be made from aluminum. I'm asking $80. Please pm me if you'd like one.

I am currently working on a folder design based on pictures from the web. If you're interested in a folder let me know by pm also.

Please remember that I do this on my own time at home. I do have a regular job that takes up quite a bit of my time. So needless to say I don't have them on the shelf. This is all based on your replies. Doing a mill run for a high quanity is easier than making them one by one.

What specifically is prohibited, I wonder? Could I buy all the parts but the barrel, and then get a barrel for .223 and have it cut to x39?

If I could get all the different caliber swap kits I'd probably buy one of these. They are certainly a nice rifle, although I think I'd look at fluting the heavy barrel to cut down the weight on the nose, personally.

The bolt is prohibited for export as well.

You cannot have the conversion kit unless you drive down to the US and illegally export it yourself. You would also be violating Canadian law because the price is above $500, requiring a permit from our government too.

Export license is approved for 6.8 kits, the barrel blanks arrived 5th May, we understand that Rob Arms will ship as soon as they are completed, we have not been given a delivery date yet.

We are having a folding stock hinge manufactured in Canada, this will be modular so by mixing and matching parts it will fit the XCR or CZ 858 and use a variety of commercially available butt stocks.

When will you begin taking people on a waiting list for 6.8 kits? I'd be willing to put down a deposit to hold a kit.

Waiting lists or “notify lists” are simply no longer practical for us. We have over 1500 names on back orders and waiting lists etc. This work load is killing us. We are endeavoring not to accept any more names for any waiting or notify lists. We are working through the existing lists and they will eventually be replaced with purchase orders only.

With purchase orders the customer will only be charged and invoiced when the goods have arrived here. The exception is for “Special Order” items when a 20% deposit is required when the order is placed and we reserve the right to keep some or all of this as a restocking charge if a special order is canceled, these will always be judged on a case by case basis.

We will not accept purchase orders until we can quote a price and hopefully a delivery date. With new lines and models when we are accepting orders we will announce this on both our web page and CGN. When purchase orders are placed we will require all your relevant details. Thank you.
