Getting that installed properly is a full day's job. (well, maybe with a long lunch) But if there is any re-profiling of the butt stock (most likely) then there is refinishing to consider.
I would be quite surprised if you got away under $500.00

Does anyone have an idea what it might cost to have a buttstock cartridge trap installed?
Can anyone recommend a qualified (good woodworking skills) gunsmith?
I have the cartridge trap, in vg condition, smooth spring, nicely engraved with a Capercaillie at the centre, complete with the brass plate and all six unmolested screws. (see photos...The last two photos are of a similar trap on another of my rifles, just to show approximately what needs to be done.)

Fitting that to an existing stock would be challenging. The profile of the stock is likely to be very different. Much easier to blend it in when you're starting from scratch.
