Yesterdays pics

Here is what I did yesterday and the day before...My friend Cameron, a new hunter, came to visit me, so we went out to look for some deer. Still a little early in the season for this area, so we had to go up high.

We didn't have much success for some reason? Maybe Cam is bad luck? Didn't even see a bear, (except while eating dinner..there was one in my front yard!)

In the late afternoon we hiked back down to the truck, and decided to try some lower elevations, not much going on there, either...But then we saw Mr. Grouse, so Cam used my vintage Holland & Holland single shot 20 guage and downed his first grouse ever!

It's because he lives where he hunts - he can go for a hunt and come back before the 30 second wait on posting expires.

Gatehouse - you're a lucky bugger. I'll be back up in the area for the first time in 6 months as of dec 16th! Looking forward to it.

I was going to post them anyway, when I got into work today...

It was one of the many reasons I was chuckling to myself all last night, thinking about how I had packed around my laptop the last couple of days

Should have used a 12GA instead of the 20GA, the energy difference is like that between a 7mm Mag & .270 Win. Or is that magnum 20GA?
