So as many of you were aware - last year the Ontario MNR reluctantly moved some woodland caribou off Michipicoten Island as it was pretty obvious they were going to be exterminated by the wolves which had moved out to the island 4 or 5 years ago. At lunch the other day, a local First Nations member told us that the wolves were starving and that commercial fisherman had been hired to provide supplemental feed to the wolves on the island (reliability unknown). He also said that they were going to move some wolves off the island - well that part seems to be confirmed!

So now they are going to transfer 3-6 "STARVING" wolves that fattened up on caribou across the lake in order to fatten up on American moose.
