Yippee new toy! Better than promised...

I am a new Mosin-Nagant owner (have two carbines on order). Do these rifles use "stripper clips"? Where wud one purchased some?

You know, you won't shoot fast enough to make stripper clips necessary. Well that's from my experience anyways, you mileage may vary...

I hate to admit it, but I picked up a Limbsaver slip-on for the monster. I'll try it this weekend and see how thing go... my jungle carbines were tamed by Pachmeyer Magnum, they still roar and heave, just no bruises... don't judge me, I'm 150 pound guy, I use a stickman as a self portrait. (my wifes a hottie that likes em slim, I don't plan on changing;))

I just got mine from weimajack also. It is also in good shape, great bore, but it has a bit of a sloppy shellac job on it, looks as though it was done while still assembled so some shellac got on the barrel, magazine etc. Any suggestions how would I go about removing this stuff?

Grab a can of brake clean from your local auto parts store or Canadian tire, take the stock off the rifle,(unless you want to strip it too.) the brake cleaner pretty much dissolves the shellac so all you will need is a rag and maybe some ultra-fine steel wool if it's on there really bad. Just don't get too horny with the steel wool or you will be into the blueing;).
