Yote rifles --- coyote

i bought a camo savage axis in .223. its nice and light and with high end hornady varmint ammo itll shoot sub moa at 100 off a block of wood. great little gun and the synthetic stock makes it nice and light

I got two depending on my mood and hunting type. i'f im calling 'em in with a howler and i've got concealement i'll haul my ruger m77 mkII target with a bushnell banner 6-24 mildot. if i'm slogging through bush and deep snow, i go with my stevens in 22mag and a red dot reflex. good short and light for close in work.

You said that right!

I was fed up with heavy coyote rigs and went with a Kimber Montana in 257 Bob. Even with a Leupold 4.5-14x40 it still comes in at under 6.5 pounds. What a nice change for walking the big hills chasing dogs.

In hindsight I probably should have gone to a thinner profile on my .257 build. If I ever find a gopher patch I'll like the one I have.

have you considered a Savage model 16 weather warrior at 6.9 lbs, I have two, one in 22-250 and the other in in 300 win mag both have the accu stock and accu trigger and both are deadly accurate, also they're under $1000 each but shoot like much more expensive rifles.

I would never carry around a heavy barreled rifle when I have to walk threw deep snow coyote hunting. The lighter the better.
I have a faux TI in the works here in 22/250. TI bdl style stock with a 22" Shilen stainless mountain rifle countour bbl. 1:9" twist. Will finist with a set of Talleys and a VXII 2x7.

I hate heavy field guns.

guys I need a rifle that is under 6.5lbs before scope, my HB rifle with scope is about 11lbs. I have a problems picking up a 4 litre jug of milk with my right arm, again might have nerve damage. So I'm planning ahead and looking to unload the HB for a very light rifle & need ideas.

Kimber is the lightest, Savage new lite weight hunter is the second lightest I've seem but I don't like the action of these rifles. I love the Tikka action but the weight of the rifle isn't light enough. I could do a custom build on a tikka action, but I don't want to spend the money on that project.

If you can get them close try a savage in 17 hmr. super light very accurate and very lethal out to 100 or a little more.

In much of the west coyote is a two syllable word, pronounced Ki ute or Ki yote or Ki yute. Yote is an abreviation of the second.

Ki yot ee is a mexican word meaning "gets ass kicked by a funny looking bird". Nobody except the hopelessly ghey ever calls 'em that.

I was going to add this to the title but it's too long.. :)

H&R Handi-Rifle, Superlight Compact is <5.5 lbs. in .223Remington or .243Winchester. Overall length of 33" also helps as the weight has less leverage at the end of your arm.

M-70 featherweight in .243, Leupold VX-III 3.5x10, Harris Bipod, Nosler 70gr BT Varmit. Never weighed it, but it's easy to tote around.

Snap of the bipod, change the ammo and Iam good to go for deer.

Packed a 12lb Remmy Xr-100 around for three years, that was enough. Bought a Kimber varmint and never looked back, weighs in at just over 8lbs and the trigger is just beautiful, the more I use it the more I love it.

thats what i was going to suggest. handi and a nice scope will have you in for less then what most of the other rifles alone will cost.

back a couple of years ago when I picked up my Savage 300 win mag at Wholesale sports in Grande Prairie I was considering a Sako that they had on sale, the reason I didn't buy it was it was so light it felt like a toy.

I'm sorry I don't know the exact model but maybe someone here that is more familiar with Sako firearms could recommend one.

I don't know anything about Sako guns good or bad but all I know is this one was feather light.
