Clipped one on the lake last winter at a deer kill, drew a little blood but it got into the bush in 3' of snow so I couldn't track it down  It was a good size black one like your. It stood about 4-6" taller than the other one I did get.

Thanks guys, went out turkey hunting and came home with a black yote. :dancingbanana:
There was one shot down the road from where I got this one, about 8 years when we where deer hunting. I did see another black one about 8-9 years ago at night cross the road ahead of us driving, but I'm sure it was a wolf it looked awfully big.

Holly bejesis, that there is a huge coyote, or a large wolf?
What it weigh, and most of all what the hide fetch at the auction?;)

looks very dark. not sure if thats is summer coat, or maybe cross wolf? Don't see them too much around here, just see tracks, and hear them yelping all nightlong.

Senior, that critter you shot looks pretty "wolfy" to me. Especially since you saw one even BIGGER! Too bad we don't have a more detailed picture of the head, it's not hard to tell the difference if you get a good look at the head. Black wolves are really quite common.

Dumb question...What do you do with them after you kill them? You can't eat them, do you just throw away the body?

Check the recipe section above; many great yote dishes. Stews, stir fries, roasts.....even steak if you can get by the gamy flavour. Try some yote next time you have a chance!

Dude, I'm joking, it's a wild DOG!

Many guys utilize the pelts. They can be amazing at the right time of year.

Actually it's a normal medium sized wolf. IMO ;)
Weighed 72lbs
I do know a guy that hunts coyotes down Oshawa-Peterboro way that got a black flavoured one this past winter.

Thru out the body & my 4 whr wears the tails :)
Actually after the body was frozen I stood it against a tree right at end of a corner on the Snowmobile trail :p
