you would only be able to buy it if you had a letter from your commanding officer authorizing you to purchase said firearm.... and here comes the sticky part, since the "crown" authorized it, is it really then your own personal property ??

Take it up with them.

Like I said the police/military end user agreement doesn't come without it's cost. Personally I prefer not to apply for one if I can help it. I don't like paying after tax dollars for something and then have to sign an agreement which doesn't allow me to sell my own property. Given the choice I always buy without an end user agreement.

I almost wish you hadn't posted this! Reading that report was like throwing gasoline on a fire. I own a lot of guns, but if I had to, I'd give up 90% of my collection for a non-restricted 18.5" RFB. It's been 35 years since I've ever anticipated a new toy(that I may never actually get my hands on) this much. You might as well call the RFB a "red ryder" and change my name to "Ralphie".

I have to agree with you. The only gun I wouldn't give up to get the RFB is my Tavor. I want this rifle so much that I preordered 2 of them from ArmsEast. :D May the US DOS see this rifle for what it is a legitimate sporting rifle.

I've sent another email to "info@armseast.com" and hopefully if there is a list, I can get on it. And, what the heck, as long as everyone is buying bulk, I'll sign up for two too. Any idea what size of deposit I'm looking at if I want two RFB's? $1,000? $2k?

If it gets heated up from the sun just cover it with a sheet of Dr.Scholl's moleskin. Works great on a trap shotgun stock too.

There is no deposit. That is because he doesn't even have approval from the US DOS to export them to civilian end users as of yet.
