Ah. Good to know.
The RCMP have the distinction of being a regiment of dragoons (unmounted Cavalry).
If I were an auxilary police officer and I was able to buy a non res RFB I would agree never to sell it and I would be true to my word on that. Cause why would I ever want to sell a 308 bullpup.![]()
Just like I am A Legal Firearms owner and would never use a firearm in an act of crime or commit any crime for that matter.
Don't I deserve a RFB??
The RFB is one sweet piece of kit. I haven't shot it yet, but I've handled Spiny's, and it handles like a magic wand. Even fully loaded, it feels so well-balanced that a .308 fighting rifle swings like a .410 quail-gun. The controls are perfect; ambi safty with -very- positive lockups, paddle mag release with the bolt-stop right in front, and a nice trigger besides. The magazine lockup is now of the straight-up type, no more nose-in-rock-back. Beats my FAL, or the STG-556HB. The ejection trough (not tube) seems to work quite well. This thing is a bloody work of art. We're all lusting after the 32" version, which'll be about 2lbs lighter than my FAL, the same overall length, but with a 32" tube that'll allow a shooter with a 210-220gr bullet and something slow-burning to reach out past 1,000 yards with some authority. One thing to note; this weapon has a -very- distinct report. The crack of the bullet, the muzzle blast, and the bolt-slap are all one sound, even heard from 300+ yards away. It sounds like nothing else.

I almost wish you hadn't posted this! Reading that report was like throwing gasoline on a fire. I own a lot of guns, but if I had to, I'd give up 90% of my collection for a non-restricted 18.5" RFB. It's been 35 years since I've ever anticipated a new toy(that I may never actually get my hands on) this much. You might as well call the RFB a "red ryder" and change my name to "Ralphie".

someone needs to made a plastic cheek rest - metal receiver + sun + ammo = burn face.
I believe the grey piece on the top of the stock is polymer. So no problems there.

I want this rifle so much that I preordered 2 of them from ArmsEast.![]()
When I was playing with it last year at Shot, it is a piece of stamped sheet steel IIRC.
In case of case failure - that piece gonna save your face.
I've sent another email to "info@armseast.com" and hopefully if there is a list, I can get on it. And, what the heck, as long as everyone is buying bulk, I'll sign up for two too. Any idea what size of deposit I'm looking at if I want two RFB's? $1,000? $2k?
