So what's the deal with their slow manufacture? They making all the parts by hand with a file?

Back in January, Kel Tec said they were focusing on the Carbine version (Aka not the non-restricted one) and that they were back ordered already. In comes Obama-Phobia and you will see zero sent for export until the buying frenzy down south resides.

+1, I would like to have one! A bullpup in 308 would make a nice compact big game rifle!

But, alas, there are new tactics being used in Canada to restrict access to "cool" firearms... The RCMP could decide to "pull the FRT #, & place it under review indefinitely..." Effectively, there is NO timeline that the RCMP have to comply to when they do this, it could go on FOREVER!!!

For those of you unaware of this new tactic, have a look around in Red Rifles for T97, it's truely eye opening news.

Cheers
Jay

Minister van Loan and staff were taken unawares by this tactic of the RCMP. When informed of the crap that was going on by A Detachment of the RCMP with respect to disappearing FRT numbers and the intention to unilaterally reclassify a number of "black guns" by the NFA and the CSSA, van Loan hit the roof. After tearing a strip off the invidiuals responsible, both the NFA and CSSA were given official assurances that there would not be a repeat of the T97 fiasco. The latter case, unfortunately, was mired too deeply in bureaucratic red tape for an instant resolution and will lead to litigation. Canada Ammo and Lever Arms did their due diligence and acted in good faith from start to finish. I sincerely hope the RCMP get royally reamed once this makes it to court and that they're both awarded full damages and legal costs, plus punitive damages for the RCMP's questionable actions.

At an old age home near you.... Good news ladies and gentlemen, "Crafts time has been extended by four hours today"!!! Yes I ripped this from the movie Office space.

I was under the impression they weren't turning out all that many down there either.

I know I keep saying this but... Man I want one of these rifles!!!

READ their web news update - apparently there are having heating treating issues that are slowing down the production.

I say-wait til 2010.

Construction of our new 12,500 sq-ft building is currently underway and scheduled to be completed early 4th quarter. This new facility will be used as a warehouse to free up space in the main factory for new CNC machines specifically for RFB production.

On the RFB note, heat treatment issues with the ejector chute are slowing down RFB production. Batches are still coming out, but not in full production quantities as of yet. We are working closely with our heat treaters to resolve the issue.

Good news/Bad news kinda deal.

That would make sense. The L1A1 (Brit term for FN-FAL) would already be in use, so a calibre conversion of the Bren would require a mag change also, so have it use the same mag. (Or a longer version of the same)

Well most of us brits call them an SLR but L1A1 will do:D
