You guys seen the new AIA Canada page yet? ;)

OK, I realize an all chrome gun is a tad ###, but if the sights were still blued or parkerized, an all chrome version in 7.62x39 would be a pretty sturdy sport utility rifle/ working gun. Kind of nice to be able to toss the SOB behind the truck seat without worrying about it rusting without an immediate detail cleaning.:D

That chrome gun is in .308, looks like the carbine 7.62X39 but it's .308...
Rather than ###, think of it as a marine magnum version...

Hell, I'm going to buy one. I haven't owned a 2A1 that shoots well yet or to tell the truth any of the No4 Mk1 conversions that shoot acceptably, includeing a DCRA with Parker Hale micrometer sights, in as new condition. I will order mine tomorrow and look forward to it. Bearhunter

Hi Tanis
Sorry to be a milsurp nerd but Long Branch never made a No4Mk2.

However lets look at this from another perspective.

The German mauser Action has been newly manufactured for many years since the war. Retail for sporter rifles with this action can be anywhere from $400 to $25,000 depending on the customization done.

You're right though - if its not your cup of tea then thats cool too.

Gah, I knew that too. Can't figure out why I said Mk2...

Anyways, I see where you're coming from, but I'm not quite sure what point you were trying to make with the Mauser reference. Yes, the Mauser action is very popular for modern rifles (justifiably so), but the difference between the rifles based off the Mauser action, is that they're not touting themselves to BE Mausers, unlike what the AIA rifles are doing.

Or I could be reading into that wrong. Any chance you'd be interested in clarify/expanding?

FYI, According to a response from Wolverine Supplies, they are expecting their shipment next week and will be pricing them as follows (including the same 'extras' bundled with the rifles at Marstar), shipping & taxes extra:

No4 Mk4 Classic Lee Enfield 7.62x51 $799.00
M10-B1 Sporter Lee Enfield 7.62x51 $799.00
M10-B2 L42A1 Hvy Bbl 7.62x51 $899.00

Unless I'm mistaken, the B1 & the B2 are listed for +$100 more at Marstar...

Interestingly enough, if you are Ontario, it will be cheaper to ship it from out west than to pay Ontario PST - regardless of retail price. I suspect the reverse is also true, except in Alberta.

Always nice to see new guns coming in from Marstar and Wolverine.

I got a joke for the complainers and the cheapskates...

How was copper wire invented????

....2 tightwads fighting over a penny!

Yep, that always boggles my mind, what a system eh? :D Those damn Albertans!!! ;)

given the shape of the bridge, and the fact that there appears to be a tapped hole in the vicinity, it wouldn't be impossible to make a charger guide for these rifles -if it was really important to you. Personally I'm a cheap #### who would buy one just to shoot cheap ammo, oh yeah and save wear and tear on my near new and staying that way Irish Contract gun. This way the one in the wrapper stays that way for another 50 years.

I read along time ago that they were made completly in Vietnam. And I finially found new threads that support this as the older ones when this topics about the Austrilian Rifles I couldnt find. Found some now so here they are. :)

Some newer threads.

Alot of the older threads have beed deleted I think as I cant find as many refrances to them being made in Veitnam as there were back when they tried importing them at first to the US.

I'll withhold judgement about where they are currently made but I'm willing to bet they are being mis-marketed by the Austrilian frim agian. And the fact they dont have a company website other then the one they just put together now that they are going to import them into Canada makes me question them. ;)

Read the other threads, I got confirmation from Lawrence Arms in Australia that they are made by the government gun arsenal company in Vietnam. I'm actually relieved, if they can make AK's etc. they know how to make and test guns. I also saw that ad that said the receivers are CNC machined from 4150 steel or something...sounds pretty good. I also saw something that said they used some new minigun barrels left over from the war...cool... :)

Cantom,

I saw the refrence to the mini-gun barrels thats what made me check if there have been new threats on them being made in Veitnam. ;)

Thanks for that bit of infomation about them actually being made in Vietnam and you getting conformation :)

Guess this means they need to change the banner they have for the Canadian site as well seeing as they say "Custom built in Austrilia" :p

Well, I took the plunge. Decided that the combination of style, calibre, detachable mag, and ease of mounting optics made this a pretty easy choice.

The first order for a No.4 Mk. 4 placed with Wolverine is mine.:) Ryan said the rifles should be arriving tomorrow. There's been lots of tire kickers but no orders 'til mine. No info yet on availability of spare mags, as I'd like at least three. That's what I need for the plate shoots I organize. It'll be hard to beat with my Comp M2 on it.

Yes, I know it's a lot of money for a "Lee-Enfield". But it's not much more than a comparable Savage .308, and with the free accessory pack, I think it's a fair deal. I just couldn't bring myself to buy a sporting rifle that looked like a sporting rifle.;)

If anyone is getting an enforcer I'd love a range report... Actually a range report on any of the rifles would be good since Im in the market.

I'm starting to think these rifles are going to move...:)
