Hello gents! .. just decided that I would like to get myself a nice, little pump action .22, but have never owned one. Even as a boy, I always had a semi auto or single shot. I have ZERO knowledge about any of them!

I want to know what all of you think the best .22 pump you ever owned was? most accurate, most reliable, most fun .. new or old, in production or not.

thanks!

:)

As I said .. I really like the Browning too. There must be some mystery behind it and pump actions from yesteryear. Every time I see any pump action .22 on the EE, I don't even get a chance to ask the owner about it cause it's already gone! Pump action cult followers must have hundreds hidden in their basements because they are hard to find anywhere!

Keep the suggestions coming please .. by the end of this thread, I figure I should have enough info from the group to make an informed decision on what to buy .. or at least LOOK for ..

pump .22's

I think the best hammerless pump .22 ever made was the Winchester model 61.....all machined steel and walnut, I love them. For hammer pumps I like the REAL old Winchester 1890's or the Winchester 62's....again all steel and walnut!

My Browning semi does not have a scope on, I use it for backpacking etc so it has to break down small. For open sights, it is more accurate than I am.

+1

Very accurate and reliable rifle. Easy to carry around and fun to shoot. I have a scope mount for it but never put it on. The open sights work great.

My Rossi Gallery Carbine, a 16" repro of the Win 62. Take-down, slamfire and even with its coarse sights a "can't miss" small game rifle.

Model 62A Winchester, with the 61 a distant second. Great old rifles.
