Your Chosen #1 .22 Ammo and Why!

Eley anything is #1 in my single shots, cci standard velocity in my marlin semis, federal 510 works pretty well in my single shots and semis also.

Where is Eley actually manufactured? By who? I had a box of it, and I had 3 or 4 ftf's out of a box of 50. Also they smelled like the back end of a mule when shot, stinky!

I'll run just about anything through my sr-22. I prefer CCI Blazers for everything. If I sight my red dot to use Blazers for paper, I'm not going to switch to Subsonics or hyper velociters. Tried that once and did not like the results. I've tried a variety of ammo for my 22 and there's only 2 I can think of that gave me any grief. 555 Win had miss feeds and Rem yellow jackets stove piped one me. But that's just my gun it may work for yours. don't bash it till you try it.

all those have been working fine for accuracy in my bolt action walter, cz and Anshultz
Eley Tenex, CCI Green Tag, Lapua Midas L, Federal Premium target

for some reason, my custom 10-22 like Lapua Midas over everything I throw at it.

for hunting nothing can beat CCI Blazer... smack criter hard and stomp like a champ at 75 yards on whistle pig.

I don't shoot hyper velocity so no comment on those... ( all carbine have match or Bentz chamber... )

--- SUGGESTION -- WE SHOULD MAKE A POOL ON THIS SUBJECT.

Mine is ....

American Eagle 38 gr. because it won my 2 round, 13 brand rimfire shoot off. It's covered with pics in another recent thread.

Notice all my brands I tested are regular store brands. I have never seen many of there brands like Aguila and Eley. There's a guy in Winnipeg selling a bunch of these brands for a good price on EE , it's too bad I am so happy with the results from AE. I would totally scoop up that ammo, it's a good deal. For plinking and hunting AE is doing me right.

Winchester Dynapoint GT 40 gr, especially in the Cooey; it's the only ammo I tried yet that is sure to cycle the rifle. It will also have the added fun effect of going right through the first grouse and also kill the other one behind it (true story).

Packs a lot of punch for a .22 LR round.

CCI Standards are what I hoard. Fiocchi 320's are more consistent/accurate at 50 meters but from 100 meters and beyond the Standards are more consistent/accurate; 200 meters, too easy. If you factor in cost I've yet to find anything that beats the Standards. Anything better costs several times more.

Hmm I agree on the pool. However! We should also mention the rifles we are using for this ammo we choose as best
So far, it's blazer in my Winchester 150 Lever Action AND Remington 552 Speedmaster Semi Auto.

AE 38 gr HP, always feeds flawlessly and hits what I point it at.
Although I might try some cheap bulk packs for the days firing hundreds of rounds at the duelling tree.
I will never again buy Remington Yellow Jacket or thunderbolt, from my rifle did not seem to be reliable whatsoever!

Blazer is by far the most accurate I have tried in my savage. My single shot lake field loves the winchester target in the 500 count bulk pack .75 of an inch or tighter on a good day at 50 yd.

No issues with Blazer bulk through my .22lr Advantage Arms conversion kit for my Glock17.
Win555's ran cheap and acceptably accurate through my rifles (10/22, 597, 981T). Hoping it will shoot well when I pick up either a CZ 455 Varmint or Ruger 77/22 because I have a shyte of it!
