Just thought i would through this out to see what everyone on avg is gaoing to be hunting deer with this year?

I got mine all warmed up today before the family rolled over for dinner pulled out the ammo, cleaned her up.

This year I am going to carry an old faithfull 300 wby in a 700 rem loaded with 165 IB hdy bullets. and for a back up rifle and for the stands I am going to take my 308 SS 700 loaded with the same 165 IBs Hdy.
But I hope to carry the 300 all the time.

375 Winchester, in a Model 94 Big Bore loaded with 220 grain Hornady bullets (handloads) for the bush, 270 Winchester, factory 140 grain in a Savage bolt action for the open fields.

I can't decide so I'm bringing a browning 25 06, rem 700 7x57 and for the brush a .450 marlin and maybe the .357 timberwolf I just bought. But that could all change by next week. LOL Or maybe my .

Dave.

It looks like most people are taking a main rifle and a backup gun. ;)

I have many to choose from but I think this time it'll be a CIL/Parker Hale in .270 Win. and a Brno 21H in 7x57mm Mauser. :D

Remington 700 Titanium, 308WIN
Haven't decided what to feed it yet, just picked it up a week ago.

My S/S Ruger M77 mkII in a 270Win and a 22-250 for back up, I don't have a 6.5x55 any more, how did that happen?

Ross sporter in 303 for dogging, Mauser 2000 in 7X57 for on watch. Beat up LE # 4 for my rain gun. Camp is only six miles from home, so I can easily access any of my rifles...

Mine will always be a 7RM Browning A-Bolt. For a backup I've got a 243 Model 70 or a 300 WinMag Savage 110C (if I'm going into open country).

First one down with my stainless Mod.70 STW. 160 TSXs at 3300 fps. Going to carry it for the rest of the season, 338 custom Mod. 70 (my normal Deer gun) will be backup.

I use the same rifle I use on moose, my S/S Laminate Ruger M77 mkII in 30-06. Still using the failsafes as I have enough left for this season. Hopefully I can use them all up on dear this year.

Haven't decided yet. Ruger .44, Win 94 in .303 Savage, Ross 1905R in .303Br., maybe a Starr percussion carbine. Or a Browning 95 .30-06, or Savage .300 99.

Deer: Win70 featherweight classic in 6.5x55 SE (140 partition at 2700)
Moose: Win70 classic in .338 Win Mag (225 accubond at 2950)
Coyotes and magpies over a gutpile: Win70 featherweight classic in .223 WSSM (40 BT at 4200)

It's going to be a very good year :D

The .270WSM, my 30-30, a .444 Marlin and .... my .375 H&H, yup, that;s right no typo. :D My tags allow my 10deer this year, not that I plan on filling them all, but I do plan to use reach caliber.

The rifle I've been carrying already. My Ruger Hawkeye .30-06
