Your favorite .22 cal pistol

Nice revolver Cyclone! How does it shoot? I ask because my SAA with 7.5 inch barrel tends to shoot low for me. (44 special)

You sort of have to get into the "zen" with positioning and holding the buntline :yingyang: , as you probably know with your .44 special......I find that it points well pretty naturally (long-but-light .22 barrel) , but b.c. of other compensating reasons (i.e. b/c it's a .22LR the manufacturer thought it'd be okay to "skimp" on the size of the grip :D ) , I also find myself already angling up the barrel a bit........which is maybe why I tend not to group low when I fire it ?

Thanks Cyclone! This is my only SA, and I appreciate the feedback from other Colt SAA owners.....
Cheers buddy

There have been some Sig Mosquitos the front end of the slides have broke clean off.
Saw one myself. Browning Ruger are A1 target pistols. If you want excellent taget pistol a Walther Expert or a Browning Medalist these just never fail. Buy right buy once

I heard that too about the mosquito. we will see if that happens to mine in the next 5 months when my 1 year warranty is up.

its a 2009 model with serial # starting with F0 and many problems were ironed out by then.

not sure how many thousands of rounds I have through it now but it runs flawlessly with the cheapest thunderbolts

however given that the gsg 1911 is around now, it does not make sense financially to consider the mosquito anymore

This same problem happened to a friend's Walther P22. He was very happy he was not shooting it, and not his young son, as a piece of it hit him in the face. (eyebrow) Cheesy/cheap unproven alloys in the slide caused this IMHO.

Here's mine and I bought it because it is my favorite...

I wouldn't go so far as to say its the best, but I really like my High Standard "The Victor". Excellent trigger and sights, very reliable, feels like a 1911 in your grip. In fact mine has Pachmyr 1911 grips on it.

Ive only fired a few 22 pistols but the best groups I ever shot were from a MkIII ruger with big fat wood target grips and adjustable sights. The old guy wouldn't budge on $300, im still tempted to call him up and grab it because the group I shot was so tight it was like art!!! But for not much more I can get a new one in a similar configuraton. So im my opinion(and alot of other peole on here) if you find a Ruger you like at a good price buy it!!!!!!!!
