Your favorite ridiculous handgun price!

I have a flipside to this thread. When the handgun bans were announced, I had two guns listed for sale elsewhere and several idiots lowballed me offers, with the same exact sob story being used by sellers asking inflated prices right now. These morons seemed to be under the impression that supply drying up would drive prices down.

The reality of the marketplace right now is fairly simple. New supply of the commodity we all seek has been completely cut off. If $2500 is unreasonable for a Glock right now, it won't be for very long. Count on it. Smart dealers will take inventory off the shelves and wait to capitalize further in the near future.

I sent "Manny" straight to my ignore list. He states the reason for the ridiculous price is "he needs the money."

You never know. He might had been robbed by hookers and needs the money so his wife doesn't find out.

But I call bull####. Since I'm looking at his 22 LR firearm forsale and they're not super outrageous in price. Only his handgun is. So he just trying to capitalize on it.

If the new legislation passes, sale value will be zero. What will that do to prices at the last minute? Some may hold guns they have no longer any use for. Owner too old, sick, eyesight bad, etc.

If the legislation is vague or doesn't explicitly remove your future ability to continue to use your handgun for 'sporting' purposes, then the value will continue to increase until the last minute.

I definitely overpaid for a g19 Canadian edition (nothing stupid like $3k though). I tried for multiple and was always late, dealers had none at the time so I tried a WTB add (basically asking to be exploited lol).

If the freeze happens, at least I got most of what I wanted. So at the end of the day what’s a couple hundred extra now vs never owning it.

Free market, don’t like the price, don’t buy it. Everything is worth as much as someone is willing to pay for it. Considered listing my Chiappa 1873 22lr for $6k after seeing some people’s “firm” prices.
Local ####### add has been up since the June announcement for a Norc 1911 for $1000, seen a handful of overpriced 686’s but nothing is comparing to the glock19’s, especially the 19x.

On the other side, The Gun Dealer just sold 2 HK P7s for 1200 a piece, and Epps just sold a Colt Combat Government 1911 for 1K. Those are nice deals.

Is it me or has the mad rush of retail sales slowed down? I see a lot of retailers who would sell out of certain models in minutes a week or 2 ago, still carrying them, and there are high end (priced) models that do not seem to be moving. We are coming to the last week of Aug and bill C-21 (he spits as he says it) and its handgun transfer freeze could be a reality within a month from now.

So with that i have 2 questions.

1. Does the import ban include exports so retailers will be stuck with whatever product they have left on the shelf?
2. If so, are we going to see a fire sale on the remaining handguns running up to the reopening of parliament?

That is probably the best laugh I've had in a while - wow.....just wow.....

He won't break up the package - what package? The only thing that didn't come with the pistol is the 3 extra mags.... These can be had for less then $50 - not $350 - $400 each....

All of his prices are out to lunch. He has a restricted FX9 with a vortex red dot and a couple extra mags for $2150.
Its either glue or paint chips.
