iIn 1999 I bought a brand new, very low number Ruger 10/22M. I milled off the Ruger ring mounts, drilled and tapped and installed a picatinny rail on it after I had it nickel plated. The barrel is a fluted Lilja stainless, and it currently is bedded into a Boyds Thumbhole stock with a Kidd trigger. I've got a new stock coming for it, Boyds Pro Varmint pepper with stippling, and adjustable comb.
It is incredibly accurate with anything through it, easily drops the whole 9 shot mag into sub MOA at 100. I'd love to get my hands on some of the poly tipped bullets, but I've yet to see them on the shelf around here. I took three ground squirrels on my property last Saturday, 87m, 111m and 122m in some sporty cross winds, three shots total. It isn't really fair to call it my favorite as it is my only one. I've got two .17 HMR's and over a dozen .22 LR, and this rifle is very special because of it's power, accuracy and reliability.
