Iver Johnson , 9 shot , top brake , .22 revolver . Grandad gave it to me around 1960 . Used to sit on the fender on his tractor and shoot at groundhogs and , yes , it was legal back then .
My first handgun is a S&W 686 Classic Hunter from Lever Arms when it was run by Alan Lever himself. It's basically a 686 with an unfluted cylinder and Hogue rubber grips which have been replaced with a Pachmayr Gripper years ago. Still have it, still shoot it regularly and will never sell it.
was a 6" Ruger Security-Six .357, with "Made in the 200th year of American Liberty" stamped on the left side of the frame. Back then, I could take it home in a shoe-box, and store it wherever, loaded or not.
Springfield Armouries standard (5" barrel, .45 ACP) government model 1911 (I believe it was called the "Defender" model back then). It was back in the late 80's - when Springfield was still wholly making/assembling their pistols in country (in the USA)...
Browning 1910 - short barrel and .32 ACP. Little did I know waaaaay back then it would give me something called 12(6). Coincidentally, the first non-hunting rifle I bought was an FNFAL which put me in the 12(5) category.
