Your least favorite step in reloading?

Removing the burr around the case mouth on new cases or on cases that have been tumbled in stainless steel media. The Giraud won't get it entirely and neither will standard chamfering/deburring tools.

I would have also said weighing charges on my Acculab, but I sold it since my tuned Chargemasters give me the same SDs and are a ton quicker. ;)
 
I have a huge amount of casting that I need to do and an unheated garage sitting at -30C to try to do it in. Not going to happen this week!!

Mostly I find casting a pain just because you have to set-up and commit at least a couple hours to it at a go. Not having a better place to work isn't helping matters.

I use an RCBS primer pocket uniformer for primer pocket cleaning. It's depth can be adjusted so that you're just scraping out the carbon and maybe squaring off the pocket a little. It's faster and does a better job than any primer pocket cleaning tool I've used, including the Dewey crocogator.
 
Cleaning primer pockets sucks. Punch the primers before you clean and the dies get full of junk and the holes full of media, do it after cleaning and you have to clean again or manually clean them all.

Otherwise, the rest of reloading I find quite enjoyable, and tht's using a single stage press.
 
sorting brass by headstamp. Never bothered with 9mm Luger, and never seemed to matter. But found it did matter with 45acp, so I sort it after tumble cleaned. Hate the sorting.

ETA - hate a strong word, I like reloading so how can I hate any part of it. But yea, that sorting is my least favourite step ;)

Shooting.

I go through all that process and build nice, shiny, heavy cartridges and put them neatly in boxes and then Bang! ... and I have to start all over again.
 
I've been reloading since 1986. I'm currently loading about 13 different calibers. I'm a high volume shooter. I HATE IT ALL, I wish I could win 649 and just buy my ammo factory made!

Lee's data is a little on the light side usually. Hodgdon's data is light as well. Actually, most published is light and you can often go a fiar bit heavier depending on your rifle. All data is a guide if you are working loads up. Pick one, start at the bottom and work up. you get to shoot... and you won't blow off your fingers... or your rifle... but let your weapon tell you what it likes...
