Your loudest handgun

My vintage (1968) S&W model 29 in 44 magnum (with the 6.5 inch barrel). It's more of a novelty than anything. It's more of a showpiece really (that whole Dirty Harry appeal). It's way too much gun to shoot regularly. I don't know how you guys do it with your 454's and 50's.

I thought my S&W 629 with a 6.5" barrel and DE .44 were loud....................until I shot a friends TC with 10" barrels chambered in 45-70 and also 30-30.

Really loud report with a handful of recoil!

The one in my avatar, S&W 500 , 6" barrel and full 360 degree compensator. The concussion has caused the snow to break loose on the roof of the range.... AFTER large caliber rifles had been shooting.

These were always pretty loud for what they are:

.22 magnum, lots of bark and flame

A 357 Magnum sending a 125gr bullet at 1800 fps, lots of concussion but the worst part is the flame out the side of the cylinder that burns spectators eyebrows off.

my .45 1911 is my loudest but i only own it and a 9mm M&P.

But the loudest handgun i've shot and that my best friends father owns (kinda like its mine, i get to live vicariously :p) is the 500 S&W revolver they've got. Thing kicks like a mule and is louder than holy hell.

G20 compensated shooting 155gr XTP's over 9.xx of power pistol, at arms length you can feel the fireball on your face and she makes a nice sharp CRRAAACCCKK...

TT33's are up there too...

BFR's aren't that bad... More of a wooomp then high pitched crack.

Seen a old .308 thumb hole silloet pistol years ago... Picture a remmy 700 bolt action with 8" barrel in a hand carved stock.... Very very VERY loud.

My 223 with a AAC brake on the end of a 11.5" barrel is fun but in pistols my S&W 629 3" with full loads has some bark/flames to it. Need to look for some old videos at the range from last year... This one will make the same bark too

I was shooting a DW .44mag at the range, when I heard one heck of a bang (compared to even the .44 I was shooting) when I look beside me there's a guy shooting a contender, don't know what caliber but it was really loud!

Loudest ever? The first time I shot my 45 acp, having forgotten to put on my earpro. Everytime after doesn't seem as loud, oddly enough.

When I was experimenting with 45 colt in my snakeslayer, using more longshot than I should have been using, that was quite loud. The 4 port stormlake barrel glock 21, using max 45 super loads of powerpistol, was also quite loud. I never fired either of those without earpro, pretty sure I'd be deaf if I had.
