I'll take the "risk" for this:

I don't mind being a guinea pig. I am supporting two Canadian firearms companies and am happy to do so. If these rifles have any issues, NEA will be able to create a fix which will increase the reliability of the next run, which will only improve the overall quality of the rifle. That way when you decide to buy one you can be assured guys like me have already dropped the money and taken the risk and helped prove the rifle in real world use. You can thank us later.

Besides, what do you think car manufacturers do? Ever notice the difference between a model of car from when it first came out to four or five years later. The manufacturer gets reports of issues from their service centres and find ways to improve it. Was I a sucker for buying my truck when the new generation first came out? I don't think so. Especially now that I have a new 2017 and it has addressed any of my concerns from my first one.

No im actually quite content that i didnt jump on them. If any problems should arrive with these rifles im sure you'll be told to pound sand like others have been told when guinea pigging for companies

NEA AR-15 rifles have had their issues in the past but one thing NEA are equally well know for is standing behind their product when customers come to them.

Since the PRS Stock can only be installed correctly by using and A1 or A2 Buffer tube (Rifle Tube) ... best to check with SFRC or NEA if the 102 tube can be changed to an A1 or A2 tube.

The new gen 3 PRS mounts to either rifle length or carbine tubes.

Dont get how poeple jump on these preorders for a rifle with barely any pictures or specs on the actual rifle. Not even a range video to show for what you're dropping over a grand for. Yeah sit there and argue it but you know its true.

Kinda like the a certain non-restricted rifle that got released and people relaized shortly after getting them that only certain mags would work with it. We all need beta testers, I'm happy to sit by and wait my turn to get one after actual range reports/reviews come in. If they turn out to be a sub 1.5MOA rifle, heck, one of these might be an early Christmas present to myself. No doubt they will be taken cared for by NEA should there be any hiccups.

The RCMP said no such thing. NEA said they won't on their own, as that is how the lineage of the AR15 works being it is a variant of the AR10 original design.

Something of older lineage cannot be a variant of something younger.

I was told NEA asked about such a possibility and was told not to by the RCMP FL for it would be classified as an AR15. To them, nothing really matters, they just do what they want. They rarely adhere to the law when making decisions.

Told by who?

NEA has simply said they won't do it without a reason. When people continued to ask why, others have explained how the variant clause works. Sometimes it falls on mechanical traits, other times it falls on lineage.

In the AR102 case, The design is the forefather of the AR15. As with other guns, and design that predates a OIC named probib or restricted is not a variant.

If you shrink down the AR102, you repeat what Armalite did years ago in designing the AR15. By shrinking it down you make a copy of what the ar15 was/is. Thus, a named restricted design.

This is what has been read into the legal comments of the AR102 on the frt. It matches other classifications, such as the VZ61.

But the RCMP are not yet in record as saying it. It is what has been explained based on NEAs refusal to make a 223 version, and what is know of how the variant clause is actually applied.

As variant isn't defined in law, parameters have been established.

Perhaps some enterprising person / company will come up with a new bolt, mag well insert, different buffer / spring, and 556 barrel to make a conversion.

Until then I will happily plink away with .308/7.62 and use it as intended :dancingbanana::cool:
