** Your NEA102 build **

Can fixed M16A2 buttstocks fit?

The new gen 3 PRS mounts to either rifle length or carbine tubes.

Do we know details about the receiver extension? Has it been confirmed that receiver extension on the NEA102 will accept butt stocks from other manufacturers, are is it proprietary?

And I am also curious if it can be swapped out for a standard rifle-length receiver extension so we can mount an A1/A2 stock on it.

Sounds as if the length is proprietary. Should be possible to retrofit an A2 stock. I don't really care for the collapsibles.

I've got a Leupold VX2 CDS with a cantilever mount for when my rifle shows up. Might pull the Burris AR332 off my AR and give that a try to see how I like it.

Will likely swap out the grip and the stock, but I'll put in some trigger time with it as is for the first while.

Regarding mags, does anyone know of any short 5-round mags that won't sit too far proud of the magwell? I've never been a fan of the "excess" size of a pinned 5/20 mag. Also don't need 10 rounds in an XCR-M mag for hunting. Would idealy like something that just peeks out the bottom of the rifle, like the Mission First pistol mags i have for my AR15.

AICS 5 round mags would work well. If you can find them there are 5 round pmags as well.

I got 2 XCR-M 5 rounders for hunting/lighter carry as well as a couple 10 round XCR-M pistol mags for the range. They are as short as you are going to get I believe.

Does the AICS patern magazine work in an ar 10 magwell... not to my knowledge. I have badger ordinance bottom metal in a Remmy 700 that takes AICS mags, they definitely don't look ar 10 ish?

I may be mistaken, however I had some 5 rounders for my modern hunter that said aics on them... Not the bolt gun mags, these were sr25 pattern.

Thanks for the responses.

If I understand correctly, the 5 round XCR-M mags are indeed shorter than their 10 round colleagues?

Just hoping to clarify that the 5 rounders aren't simply pinned 10 rounders.

They both have the same profile so if you are worried about it sticking out of the magwell too much you can't go wrong with either. They will stick out an inch or less from the magwell.

No they are the same size but are not pinned. They are crimped on the sides to prevent more than 5 rounds and are specifically made as a 5 rounder. But they can't be shorter or they would disappear into the magwell or at least be almost flush on an ar 10. They leave some sticking out the bottom to grab and pull it out if needed. The overall dimensions on the mag for both the 5 and 10 round XCR-M are the same but the 5 rounders are made to be 5 round with detends in 4 places that limit the follower. The 10 rounders are identified as 10 round pistol mags and don't have the detents.

Thanks for setting me straight. That makes perfect sense.

Welcome to the dark side! We have non-restricted ar-10 style rifles heehehehe

Very nice! Make sure to post some pics once you have her built! Mine will remain stock minus a 1-4 AR223 throw down and some dpms metal 5/20 mags

Thanks man! There'll be lots of pics. Lol. Hope to take a bear with it in September :)

Congrats man! Looking forward to your review! I almost bought a dpms g2 a few years ago but held out for this

I'm just waiting for pics. Reading the other nea102 threads it looks like first ones should be shipping any day.

Im on the second pre-order, OD green. Mine will stay stock for a while. Still looking for glass, something mid level magnification and price. Not looking to stretch it much past 250yrd.
