** Your NEA102 build **

Price is good, But I rather buy new when it comes to big ticket items. Unless its a smoking deal of course :)

having owned the mk6 1-6 leupold and the 1-8 trijicon..... and all you guys looking for lighter weight, and yet adding heavy scopes.... no matter what you buy leupold has some of the lightest scopes around.

leupold mk6 1-6x -- 17oz
trijicon 1-8x -- 27oz
leupold mk8 1-8x -- 23.2oz
vortex razor hd gen2 1-6x -- 25.2oz

after playing with the trij and mk6 i kept the mk6.... just seemed like better glass and less weight.... mounted with a geiselle sr-25 mk6 mount.

i ordered the kac mount as well, but it took a while to come in in (34mm, nib...for sale ee)

edited to add: really pissed me off that the trijicon didn't come with scope caps..... and at the time i couldn't find any to fit (4 months ago)...... just seems cheesy not to include $20 worth of scope caps.

The Primary Arms 1-6X24mm SFP Scope with ACSS 5.56/.308 Reticle Gen III is 15.52 oz so is fairly light as well. The 1-8X is 16 oz,

true, but we are comparing top end scopes here... so the primary arms platnium series is comparable.... all their 1-6x line is the lower end of their product line.

pa platinum 1-8x -- 26.45oz

ahh. yes of course. But most are not going to be droping platinum glass on the BCL 102. Thought I would throw it out there as a light weight option for the price range of what most of us would put on it.

With quality glass like that you should be fine as long as the reticle isnt to thick which I doubt. Should be easily good till 600m

I was smacking a 600 yard gong almost every shot with my 1903a4 replica the other day. 2.5x scope on that one. You should be alright.

Alright I need some help.

I can't for the life of me find a store that has a standard A2 flash hider for these guns. I saw a Daniel defense one for $55 but I'm not paying that for essentially the same thing as a $20 one.

I also can't find any 10 round mags. Anyone know of any in stock somewhere?

I have the Primary Arms 1-8 ACSS in second focal plane (not the Platinum) and its great on my M14 EBR, also used it on my XCR-M before I sold that one.

With the accuracy this gun is capable of I like having more than 8x... It came with the Zeiss Terra 4-12x50 and RZ8 reticle and I love it. The glass is nice and bright, the reticle allowed for a little more precision and it is the same weight as the Primary Arms (only 17 oz!).

I tried them back to back when I was breaking in the gun and much preferred the Zeiss. Easier to make precision shots at 100-200, a more forgiving eyebox and better light transmission with easier shots in low light (even against the PA's illuminated reticle).

True North Arms has A2 flash hiders in 5/8x24 for less than $20.

Order mine in the 2nd batch, so waiting for it to show up so I can get it dressed up and hopefully ready in time for some down and dirty moose action!

So far I seem to be going against the grain as far as optics go as I selected a Nikon P-308 4-12x42, which I will be mounting to the rifle with a Burris PEPR mount. I kind of didn't know what mount to get, so I got the PEPR because I have one on my SR-22 and just needed something that I knew would work. I think during the winter I'll shop around for something a little lighter in weight.

I also have a 11-slot chunk of Magpul pic rail to mount a OD AFG that I picked up as well. Selected a CTOMs 2 point quick adjust sling and to round it out for now I grabbed up a few 5/10 PMAGs until I can get some XCR-M mags.

Still not sure what butt-stock to get, but the stock one should get me through the season. Thinking of getting a ODG pistol grip as well I saw at my LGS to match the rifle.

Thats it for now! I'm still not sure about my optics choice, but I can always swap it out later and use the P-308 on my EBR instead.

Just ordered my stuff..

Yeah....that Armalite tube is just begging for cerakote.

Hey Driller, how short could one go with a hand guard and still cover the gas block?
