One single ACR that was cheap and a used bullpup isn't a great comparison.
That's just saying a used NEA 102 could be $1200. A 5.56 one would definitely sell as a budget option.
I think I have everything I need ordered now. It will be wearing a Harris HBRMS 6-9" bipod using a GG&G M-Lok bipod adapter courtesy of Wolverine, and a Zeiss 4-12x50 with the Rapid Z reticle that is bundled with the rifle from SFRC. Got some different length pmags on order with the rifle as well. Unfortunately I didn't act fast enough on the XCR-M mags. As far as upgrades go, I'm going to wait and see how I like the rifle as is first. After that, I might add a Raptor charging handle since I'm a lefty. Not sure if the Magpul BAD lever will fit or not but might give that a try too. Other than that, It will most likely stay stock.

I figured I would try some of the cheaper ammo and some of the good stuff and see what it likes best. There should be some Hornady Match 168gr HPBT at home already as well. It would be nice to try some of the Hirtengerger and Norinco bulk but I don't really want to buy a large lot of ammo if it doesn't shoot well in this rifle. Eventually I'll be reloading for it but I'm not quite set up for that yet.

There won't be a 556 version so there isn't any point comparing it to a tavor or acr.
Unless a 308 tavor actually becomes a thing.
I'll definitely do a range report once I get everything in. Won't be able to really stretch it's legs much though. 100m is most likely all be able to do until our range opens up the 300m lanes.

well now... i told you since day 1 it would be a heavy beast, so i dont know how you could have been so disapointed. The accuracy of the apc sure is not disapointing!
I would say you weren't disappointed but rather that your high expectations for a light NR semi were not met as you were told by others that they would not be met by that platform.
Yeah people telling me stuff about a rifle they never actually handled or shot...lol... Good old CGN ... LoL...
I like to make my own conclutions. After comparing them side by side, the ACR for me was a way better platform for my intended use.
Im just waiting to see what aftermarket parts fit the NEA so I can put together a shopping list and hopefully build a bada$$ reliable semi 308.

IIRC it was you that started the APC thread and you were one of the first on the pre-order list after the review from Wolverine.
I doubt you'll be happy with the 102 either if weight is a concern of yours, at 9 pounds dry without optic you're going to be 10+ pounds once you have glass and a full magazine (prob 11 pounds). You could save weight with an Aimpoint or something similar but this is a 308 and if you're going to run a 100 yard optic on it you may as well just run something in 223. These won't be well suited for 3-gun or other action shooting sports. Maybe if you get into service rifle or something but it's not going to be great for run and gun especially at $1 per round when a 223 will do the same for half the cost per round.
Weight isn't a concern at all if the gun is well balanced. And I need a .308 semi in my life. So since the NEA is the first on the block with one they will get my money until something better comes along .
Ill also get the M17s .308 ,SCAR-H, MDR and Tavor .308 and i'll just keep the one I like the best . This hobby is all about trying different rifles until you find one that fits you.
For me the best 556 NR rifle is the ACR and the X95 in close 2nd, I dont see any reason to buy another 556 semi ATM.

Well I went on the B&T site and it listed the weight for their 16inch barrel version. I mean it doesn't take much of an educated guess to figure out that it would be heavy and unbalanced with an even longer barrel and that skinny stock.
But that's the nature of the NR game in Canada I guess

Well balanced doesn't exactly go together with 18.6 inch barrel unless you go pencil profile but then your groups get bigger and bigger the more you shoot.
I agree, ACR is still the best non restricted 223 we have available to us. I'm less impressed with the DMR version though, that stupid railed forend just ruins it for me. How much junk do they think a person is going to hang off the front of a DMR style rifle. They should have at least made it m-lok if they didn't want to use the polymer forend.
I'll probably wait for the MDR before buying something else, until it comes my ACR, AR180B, Modern Hunter, and kreiger barreled Blackfeather M-305 will just have to do, lol.

Be careful with the pencil profile, my first NR ACR barrel was a Herron pencil and it shot like crap.
If you are competing at the range, NR status is of no concern.
Now as far as a pencil barrel being effected by heat on a NR rifle, what are you using it for out in the woods that requires accurate sustained fire for any length of time?
I can understand if it is a preference, but then your trade off is the extra weight because of the added profile you think you need
