** Your NEA102 build **

Only precision rifle team matches that require the second man to run a "carbine". Asside from that no. I think it would be a TON of fun but I am spending all my free time (and by time i mean money) on bolt gun PRS.

Thank you very much for the forend specs! I think folks planning gas blocks and aftermarket barrels with heat dissipators will find that useful!

Here's the list so far:

NEA 102 FDE.
A2 Buffer tube.
Magpul PRS Gen3 FDE Stock.
TT Trigger.
JP Silent captive buffer Gen2 Standard Weight.
JP LMOS Bolt carrier in GPG (black).
JP High Pressure enhanced firing pin.
JP High Pressure enhanced bolt complete. (Pre head spaced by JP).
JP Enhanced cam pin and firing pin retaining pin.
JP 22” 6.5 Creedmoor barrel 1:8 twist, black Teflon coated, XL length gas.
JP Thermal dissipator (Black).
JP Low profile .936 detent adjustable gas system regulator block.
JP XL length gas tube and installation tap.
Ergo tactical deluxe grip FDE.
Harris 9-13 bipod with tilt and podloc. Tacticalsupply harris talon feet.
ADM QD Bipod mount.
Larue QD mounted S&B 3-20x50 P4Lf.
Radian arms raptor charging handle. FDE.

Hopefully all of these parts are compatible. If you know of any conflict please let me know before I order the wrong components. (I have seen the issues with the charging handle already). I was hoping to get an internal dimension of the forend tube for clearance from one of you current owners. Alternatively I will look for a forend of appropriate length and internal clearance diameter. From what i can discern thus far from previous posts here, the rail height appears to be 2.06??? Armalite thread barrel nut??? Any other forend fittment specs I should specify when ordering?

Cheers for any feedback.
Dinger.

Looks like a really solid high end build. I was thinking of doing something very similar. Please keep us in the loop on how it works out. And what handguard you can get to fit over the JP thermal dissapator.

Only recommendation I have is to go with a carbine buffer tube instead of the A2 buffer tube. The Gen3 Magpul PRS fits over either a carbine or A2 buffer tube. The JP SCSS is carbine length, so it will function the same. By using the carbine buffer you can easily switch to a lighter more compact stock if you want in about 1min. That is what I do on my MH when I go hunting. Weight difference between a PRS Gen 3 & a CTR is almost 1lb.

Also no experience with AR type rifle or rail mounted accessories. Will these Magpul sights fit on a 102 rail? Thanks.20171223_101120.jpg

More nice parts to replace the subpar NEA crap. Now All I have left is to find a barrel that doesn't look like it was machined in a basement

Just got the Brownells BCG on sale on the recommendation of DILLIGAF :)

It's a really nice part, much finer machining than NEA/BCL for sure.

Of note, the brownell BCG is approx 23g lighter than the stock one! (Whole rifle is now 8lbs 2oz... Getting so much closer the a 7lbs semi NR 308 :) )
