** Your NEA102 build **

Went out for a coyote hunt the other day with the BCL. Got the first one at about 200m after we spotted it at ~1000m and stalked our way over. The second one we spotted at approx. ~1000m and stalked to about 450m, the initial shot from prone was a miss (high) - the next shot from the kneeling after the coyote started running, and paused briefly, was a hit.

Please disregard the stupid look on my face

Sweet

Started some load development with the new barrel and bcg..showing some promise. 175g smk over varget at 200m. Not bad with 1 -8 Trijicon. 20 inch shillen barrel, rifle length gas, JP lmos bcg , ssa - e. Tough to aim precisely when the reticle covers the entire target. Could explain the flyers.

Does anyone know the weight of the factory barrel. I would like to lighten up the front end. I'm thinking of getting a Faxon pencil weight barrel and a new handguard.

NEA (BCL whatever) QC is not superior to, not even at par with, any other gun manufacturer except Khyber Pass; ergo inferior.

Yes, I got suckered into the stripped set as a long term project gun, hoping at the end I’ll have a functional 308.

They charge semi-premium for two main factors, first they did come up with a good way to get a NR AR-like 308 that is not overly proprietary, and not charging top premium. Second they sell a perceived notion that its made by people earning Canadian rate therefore inherently superior to so called “3rd world”, that’s appealing to the I-don’t-buy-Chinese-crowd as a badge of honour.

as much as I love my BCL for the reasons you said, I totally agree with you. Im pretty disappointed in the cerakote on mine, I got one of the few burnt bronze models but there is many issues with the paint, or lack there of I should say. Also some bubbles and other imperfections.. but im planning on keeping it and building it up as I love being able to take it out into the bush and to friends homemade ranges

anyone gunna try to clone a m110 with these? what rail would be the closest to the m110 rail style?

I was toying with the idea, but I don't know enough about AR308s to do it. The price of the KAC cheese grater hand guard was about $500 USD, and that's if it's in stock (in the US), then you'll have to get IRG ot Az tec to bring it in for you, and then of course, you might need a custom upper fabricated to accept the DPMS/KAC barrel nut.

This is just based off some of my research. Perhaps someone here could chime in and give some better info.

I've had trouble finding another company that makes quad rails anymore. You might want to try the Armalite Super SASS hand guard, it looks sorta close, and I think the Armalite barrel nut will fit, but not sure the top rail is the same height as the 102.

Either way, you'll have a tough time appeasing the clone gods on this one.

The MK12 clone would be cool but then you have a $500+ carbon fiber handguard alone to purchase.

I wonder if the SPR top rail would fit the run of the mill Armalite round free float tube with some mods?

I actually considered building a Mk12 Mod 0 clone, but I went with the Mod 1 because the KAC hand guard was less of a pain in the ass to source.

honestly I'm almost willing to at this point, I'd like to at least put a KAC rail on and that'd be close enough for me. even if it was a URX 4.
Finding a machinist would be a pain I'm sure.

I wanna do a mk12 copy for my SLR
