I have one, actually I picked it in your 'neck of the woods', Island Outfitters. Justifying a practical application?? Sort of like climbing Everest. Why would would anyone in their right mind want to do that, and for what practical purpose? Because it's there. Use of the .500 S&W, having roughly three times the power of the .44 Mag would shine in a hunting application on big game, where allowed.NAA said:Viewed this video and a couple of the others there in the big .50 S&W wheelie... I have no aversion to recoil but I couldn't help but wonder what's a practical application for such a behemoth?
Well, the "practical application" for many different handguns is debatable, given the "range only" rules around restricteds. I've shot the 500 a couple of times (people who have them tend to be very generous with the crowds who gather 'round when the Bad Boy is brought out) and have found it to be surprisingly well balanced and manageable. Why do I have a Redhawk .44Mag? Because it's big and stainless and still affordable with reloadingNAA said:Viewed this video and a couple of the others there in the big .50 S&W wheelie...
