My 308 stainless synthetic. I picked up a 1000 round case of Norinco steel case FMJ ammo at 50 cents per round total. Cheap shooting, great for off-hand practice.

The FMJ bullet can be pulled and replaced with a 130gr Hornady SP bullet using the same powder charge (41.5gr +/- 0.2gr). Groups as shown at 100m off the benchrest. :)

a little rimfire contribution to the thread, one of my favourite rifles, got this in an out of business sale, wish I knew enough at the time to buy a few of them

Hi BRvalley is that a 3-9x33 leupold rimefire scope on your mp22? if so thats the same scope I'm putting on mine What type and hight rings are you useing? did you refinish that stock mine looks pretty dull in comparison.

just recently acquired, 8X57 topped with Bushy Legend Ultra HD compact scope with long eye relief. A very handy little toy.

I don't know where all the ugly Zastavas are, because all the ones I get look great:

Formerly mine, I think this one has belonged to 3 posters in this thread

Got this one new, a 9.3x62. My first experience with the sticky zastava bolt, but it has a lot of grease to clean off of it.

The hogs back stock fits me much better than the high comb on that monte carlo, and I think it looks much nicer too.

welcome to the world of the .366 wagner.

:) X2. I added that calibre to my small assortment with a Zastava as well. I went with the full wood Mannlicher style stock and as I mentioned in a previous post, I was VERY impressed with the initial accuracy. So much so, that I acquired another of the same, in 7x57.

If it is so popular with our Yukon members, I do not see how it will not be a hit in the Peace Region.

I have talley one piece mounts and a 2.5x leupold ready for the next time I have days off and I'm not to busy to spend a few hours stripping it down and cleaning the grease off and mounting the scope.

With a .270 and a 9.3 I may need to just sell all my other guns and buy a jetboat.

watch out that they do not control jet boat owning lol ...

They aren't fugly ugly, just a couple of things keeping them from being real gems. The wood can be nice to bland, but the pressed checkering, inletting, and mediocre finish used on the stocks is pretty consistent. The polished blued forged steel is fairly nice, but there are a few not so nice cast/MIM pieces here and there that look out of place on a Mauser. Interior milling of the receiver is rough, bolts are a little rough, triggers are great once adjusted, barrels are very good.
They certainly are not bad rifles, especially being a "built today" 98. If you have to have new there are not many options like it. If you can live with VG-EX used, a Parker Hale or FN/HVA are nicer and a couple hundred bucks cheaper.

You do not expect excellent fit and finish in a 700 dollar budget rifle. Nor do you expect a walnut stock, excellent bluing, or european stock configuration and calibers.

For a brand new rifle there's not contest if that's what you're after imo...

 You're quite correct. Cycling the action, the Zastava's I have leave a lot to be desired in 'smoothness'. However, I couldn't believe the initial accuracy results with reloads and, in conclusion, bang for the buck, no complaints:d:d.
