I've handled them in the store, but I know I don't have the money so I don't whip out my Visa then list it on the EE when I realize I can't afford it. I did that a little in my 20's and learned the hard way not to. I also wish I had done it when I had a BLR in 358Win in my hands but thought I should be prudent. HA! Under $400 for a BLR and I passed on it, oh well live and learn...I was gun shy(pun intended) because I had recently bought something I shouldn't have and couldn't afford.
The only thing I've heard(read on the internet) about the Conquest HD5 and noticed while handling them in the store is that the ocular bell is quite large and may have issue with bolt handle clearance on some 2 lug bolts, which would mean higher rings, which would mean spending more money after the fact, which could also give a poorer cheek weld. This could explain why they took it home mounted it then put it back in the box and sold it. But that's just internet hearsay.
