Zeiss Conquest Help for 22-250 T3 Varmint

You should call Zeiss for support. There are many variables, and the Z1000 is the most confusing one.

Actually, Slughunter, I'm good. This scope's been set up for a long time. But using a .223 with a ballistic reticle designed for a .308 means that I've got some random ranges and my even numbers are, more often than not, on unmarked hashmarks at different magnifications except for my zero. So I actually have to do ALL of the things Sheephunter says I don't. (And the windage marks aren't even close for light bullets.)

Unfortunately, you and he have such similar screen names, I lost track of who I was baiting.

The Rapid Z was Not designed for a 308.It works perfectly with a wide variety of cartridges and loads. I really don't think you understand how the Rapid Z works. There are some very high velocity loads it's not as well adapted to but over all it covers a very wide variety of loads. What magnification do you use yours at?

The Rapid Z 1000 was meant for 308. It works perfectly with 168 federal Gold out of my 5R milspec.

I use the Rapid Z varmint on my 223 and on one 204 rifle. The marks only go to 600 yards. This one was meant for the 223 cartridge, or close to it.

Yes the marks to the right indicate what range the new crosshair is for. The Rapid Z 1000 has the 100 mark up high near the top. Centre is 500.

Check the website for which reticle is appropriate for the cartridge you're using. Keep in mind you can use the various reticles for other calibers as well. Just pick the closest one. The Rapid Z 600 and 800 I recall are for the more common hunting rounds. I'd have to check the webpage though to be sure.

As for the slanted bases with the rapid Z. I wouldn't get a 20 moa canted base. You're already giving yourself this by using the higher hash mark for your 100 yard zero. One of the reasons I opted for these reticles is that the Conquest is a 1" tube and only has 50 moa adjustment. The reticle makes up for this (plus I just like it). You may in fact run out of upward moa adjustment on your rifle with the 20 moa base.
