Will you shoot the Zombie match

Unfortunately, a fee scale will never work....I would still be pissed at menbers showing up and npt helping out.

I do like the idea of a special shirt....I am sure our resident artist could make a kick ass shirt...

Personally I like the idea of public shaming...hard to get away from!

I have no qualms what so ever about walking up to "those people"...putting a stack of patches in their hands and giving them one of my looks. It usually gets them off their asses in a hurry.

It's also worth noting that this attitude is rank in all Divisions and in all Classes (right down to D class) It's not any one particular group...

####...in the really high heat, its absolutely critical that everyone patches. When the whole match relies on 2-3 people per stage, exhaustion and heat stroke set it quickly.

Unfortunately, I could not make this event because of a really rare work commitment. I'll be there for the next one for sure.

Congrats to the EESA members that made this happen, its obviously no small feat and their efforts reflected very well upon our club.

There were very few negatives involved with this match, and I think we will "in house" deal with them. I would like to focus on the good, and am open to suggestions on how it can be better for next year....I do want this to be an annual event....

Wow storm I can't believe people are not willing to step up and help make sure matches like this or ANY match for that matter run smooth, and can happen again.

Hell I was unable to shoot but was going to show up and help out for the day if some wired muscular bug didn't have me wrapped in pain for five days ( just struggled through today at work)
I have really injoyed working with you, 7.62 and crew in the past.

And I know the types complaining in this thread they are the same ones who complained about the set up at Burlington but never came out to set up. And when I quit doing it when I went back to work the guy who did try to help got treated like a hired hand revised ZERO help, it got so bad he left the club and wond even bother shooting there anymore. Instead he goes to another local club and helps out as part of a team. Odd concept.

Hopefully I'll be there next time to shoot and help.

Great match. Big thanks to all who helped.

It seemed like there would be 8 people patching the first few shooters then
the same 1 or 2 guys patching after that.

I always wondered why it did not work like this???
Shooting Order/ Patching Order
#1 Shooter
#2 On deck
#3 In the hole
#4
#5 Patcher
#6 Patcher
#7 Patcher
#8
#9
#10

you guys should put off building a new clubhouse and buy a truckload of those Larue auto-resetting steel targets.

No patching, and the score keeper doesn't even have to get up!!!!!

but seriously, it was comical that by the end of the day, only 2 or 3 per squad (along with the RO) were resetting while everyone else sat there like a bunch of ..... zombies!

I can totally appreciate that fact that some have physical limitations etc, but some people could have benefited from a butt stock to the forehead.

we must have been lucky on our squad, pretty much everybody was always downrange patching even had one of our squad DQ and stuck around on our bay and patched then went to the dark room for a few hours of patching.

not once did I hear a RO yell out for patchers

Sorry to hear about this stain on what looked like a great event.

Unfortuantely, help is few and far between in every discipline and sport. :( This kind of thing is far too common, but I've tried a mess of differet ways to tackle it, and none have really been that successful.

I found the best solution for a squadmate that doesn't patch is to not patch his targets when he is up. He gets the message pretty quickly when it's his turn to shoot and he has to set the stage for himself. You just have to give the CRO the heads up before you teach him the lesson.

I recently picked up one of these at Princess Auto: $300. Electric, weighs 80 lbs - folds up to fit in a car trunk. Perfect solution for 300m target resetting. The folks laughed at me when I bought it out at the provincials to get around (I was shooting and MD - needed to be very mobile) but by mid afternoon; most thought it was pretty useful.

Looked like a fun match, that's sad about the lack of desire to patch. Its too bad those shooters lost access to the prize table ;)

At our multigun last year we used ATVs to reset targets on our 300.

When I shoot the US Nationals or other big US matches, that is generally close to how the squad works...even the Super Squads. Usually it is a bit more like this:
#1 shooter
#2 on deck
#3 in the hole
#4
#5 patcher
#6 patcher
#7 patcher
#8
#9
#10 already shot, cleaning mags
#11 already shot, cleaning mags
#12 already shot, cleaning mags

Unfortunately what we see up here is sometimes, not in this case obviously, the fault of the MD. To try to run more "efficiently" the MD runs multiple shooters hot and what we see is this:
Stage 1
#1 shooter
#2 on deck
#3 in the hole
#4 shot, cleaning mags
Stage 2
#1 shooter
#2 on deck
#3 in the hole
#4 shot, cleaning mags
Stage 3
#1 shooter
#2 on deck
#3 in the hole
#4 shot, cleaning mags
No one left and you end up with the CRO, RO and MD running around screaming for people to patch. This may work if you are running an indoor club (not as much cleaning but you still have to recharge mags for next stage) and you have a staff of patchers to help out...otherwise good luck, the only guy you might convince to patch is the guy "in the hole"

Cool edit!, thanks for sharing.

I do recognize my shotgun and arm in the the opening sequence
of slow motion storage loading (I'm not that slow?) at the Dont Drop Baby stage.

You have a very handsome arm, I can't help myself but to film it! :D

It just reached over 800 views... all the popular 3-gun shooters (Maggie Reese, Julie Goloski, etc) in the US have already seen it...!!!!
