I would be more worried about a 50BMG bullpup going kaboom than a .223.
That being said, I'd be interested to see if anyone has $1000 (maybe a reseller ?) to blow in a torture test (overpressured cartridge, wrong powder, barrel obstruction...).
That's called blissful ignorance.
This is what can actually happen with a plastic receiver:

Hmm.. if this was a T97, where would your face be?
My t97 has mis fed with lar mags where te round gets pushed into the casing. The first time that happened it scared the #### out of me. What woul happen if it detonated in that position out of chamber?
Your blatant ignorance of the T97's design shines through in this post. If you actually saw how the thing is constructed, you would know that the receiver is not plastic. There is a small, but solid steel, blast shield on the left hand side of the barrel extension that extends rearwards from the chamber. It's not large, but it should be large enough to direct the majority of the blast away from the user.

I'm not ignorant of it. Someone else (forget who) talked about it in this thread. Wasn't it like 1.5" long? Good thing my face and body is only 1" wide or else I'd be in trouble!
LOL!

Those who cringe in fear with every trigger pull are in the wrong sport.
You are describing poor seated/crimped rounds. This can happen in any gun.

As long as you haven't already blown it up, I'll give you $700 for yours right now.
